Hey guys,

I got the call from Simon as I was driving to Stanford from SF that Chris has been acquitted. It's total bullshit they kept him waiting for about 6 weeks (give or take) when acquittal was virtually assured, but thank god. Anyways, hopefully Chris will be online himself soon.

Hooray, perhaps now I can actually meet him online! It feels really weird that he's been locked away so long that I never actually made contact with him. Just another travesty I suppose that there was no chance to ever really make contact.

Of course, now I just hope we don't flood him with so many well wishes we overwhelm him.

Hooray! That this ever happened is bullshit, but it's finally over.

Weird though, good news that Stofsk is free but bad news that his av is based on Liam Neeson who just recently lost his wife.

Congratulations are indeed in order. This is long, long overdue, and should never have happened in the first place. I hope he takes a good long time to recover.

As has been said absolutely excellent news...and now comes the next hard part, dealing with the aftermath. I'd like to think that up until the investigation took a turn Chris was on the right track towards dealign with his dad's death and this is one gigantic 2.5 year hiatus on the road to recovery. The obvious plus is the love and support of his mom and family, events like these tend to forge amazingly strong bonds and it is my fervent hope that they can all work through this mess and move forward with their lives.

I'm so glad to hear this. I've been waiting this news all day.

Here's a big 'fuck you' to the Victorian Police, the idiot Jury and the DPP people who decided to proceed.

And here's a big 'awesome' to the 3 appeal judges, the DPP guy who conceded the case honstly and all Chris's friends.

I'm just sorry I've been a complete prick in failing to write him or stay in touch despite continually reminding myself.

Anyway.

This time I *am* going to remember to send some cash his way. I think they are still going to have a huge legal bill to clean up after this mess, I doubt the Victorian Government is going to send a fucking cent his way
