Right. It's great.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

It is indeed awesome. Wish I had more time for 3D :)

Just watched the thread again and I was wondering, if there are any numbers for the Praetor/Giel's flagship?

Haven't done the count yet. As you might have guessed, real life work has me pretty busy, so little time for 3d :(.

Just a note, the Secutor-class makes an appearance in Star Wars: Tarkin, one of the first "new canon" novels.

Apparently there's some sort of fleet ship picture book coming out that will have an Episode 7 ship - hopefully one of yours makes it in there :)

If he makes new starships, it would be great. Lately I have added the Procursator to my Alliance but I have added it as the Turbulent Star Destroyer from Admiral Pellaeon in the Legacy comics, I feel how the design is great. I made the model looking the Fractalsponge screenshots and editing a Evillejedi´s ISD from Homeworld Warlords mod and with the inestimable help from Nawrocki for the textures.

It is not exactly at 100% as the Procursator but it is very similar and perfect for the Turbulent.

Other previous designs from Fractalsponge at my FOC Alliance mod are these.

Speaking of the Procursator, I got my X-wing Miniatures VT-49 Decimator the other day, and there was a bit of art on the back of the rulesheet depicting several Decimators around the forward half of a Star Destroyer... with a very distinctive set of centerline twin turrets. Combined with the Vigil's appearance in the Age of Rebellion RPG (and the ongoing speculation on the X-wing forums that the Vigil could be released as an Imperial Huge ship as a counter to the CR-90), it seems like you have a fan at FFG, fractal.

Someone has even just started a project to build a Vigil for X-wing.

I finally opened 3dsmax again!

Wanted to screw around making an imperial-looking pseudo-Millenium falcon type ship. Goal is to take a lot of cues from the detailing of the Falcon, but place it in the context of a more military/deliberate kind of design. The plate/panel detail will be critical. Anyways, we'll see if it succeeds.

Some design notes:
I modeled the bridge, after countless attempts, on the armored S-boote bridge. The role is going to be part gunship, part ultralight corvette. Ultralight turbolaser armament to bring it into mini-corvette power range, missile armament to attack corvettes and frigates in coordinated attacks. Sector- rather than galaxy-wide endurance, so it'll likely need a tender on hand for non-local work. Escort, planetary defense, massed attacks in support of starfighters, that sort of thing.

It's of course bigger than the falcon to do it (the falcon would fit within the central core of this ship). Probably 2.5+ decks - one central one at bridge and airlock level, and two partial decks for cargo and maintenance access.

Some work from this afternoon:

That sensor has an extremely limited arc, with almost no aft or side coverage. Any chance of moving to where the centreline turret it and splitting that to the sides in two singles?

So good to see you back at modelling. You were sorely missed.

A MilleniumFalcon-type gunship is a great idea. Something small and not a wedge.

I don't expect you to change the design now, but I don't feel comfortable with the way bridge and sensors are placed between the mandibles. The use of visual sight and rader/hyperwave (or whatever they use) would be impeded by the hull. Why not raise the bridge above the hull and put the sensors, where the top-turbolaser-turret is located. Put additional missile-tubes, where the sensors are now (like at the Broadside-class missile cruiser http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Broadsid ... iser_kdb-1) to give the thing a bigger punch.
If you also broaden the central section, where the entries to the vessel are you could place the light turbolaser-turrets there or in front of that. I am also not sure, how this thing is supposed to land with the current location of the ventral turret. You could instead place turrets into the corner next to where you have the missile-tubes now for ventral coverage, what would give you two additional turrets compared to now.

Just some suggestions from someone, who has no clue about doing such a model himself.

Since a few people have mentioned it, I'm dumping the central sensor turret. I have what I think will be a very interesting take on an alternative sensor location. Meanwhile, more detailing, because greebles are awesome.

It's actually tricky not over-doing it for this ship. I think it should be much more contained than the detailing for the Falcon, which is very aftermarket as opposed to designed. But I am trying to get a hint of the detailing aesthetic of the YT.

I'm liking this millenium falcon-inspired design. If it's geared towards an active "gunboat" role, I'd wonder if they'd put strong shields into it. I keep imagining the back left and right "shoulder blades" to have sunk-in shield bulbs, similar but smaller than those we've seen on your larger ships -- not the mickey mouse ear kind we saw in the movies.

A ship of this class with shields powerful enough to compete with a class step higher, or more, would be a hardy little fighter.

I have always been a big fan of your smaller ships, and this is no different!

I very much like how it seems 'realistic" in terms of guns for size. Four turrets and six over all 'guns'. A lot of ships seem to have turrets plastered everywhere for "looking cool" without any thought to power usage or such :P

I am curious weather this may be a "Slow but well shielded" type, or a "High speed but light shield" type. Of course there is no reasons a ship cannot be BOTH, but usually there is always some sort of :"balancing" :P

And of course... More greebles ARE awesome :D

I think it'll be proportional. I don't really think of this as a super-high end ship. More built for numbers and flexibility rather than exceptional individual performance. Definitely will be fast. I can see many potential variants, including perhaps a VIP transport.

The new sensor looks great, but that spot under the cockpit is starting to look a bit empty since they were moved. I wonder if a tractor beam system used to facilitate stop and search missions might fit into that position?

I would second that, something akin to a 45 foot response boat that the coast guard use. Something fast to use in system to run down suspected smugglers, perhaps with a powerful tractor and directional gravity well generator to throw a forward facing come to prevent the smuggler from going to hyper.

I think a pursuit tractor beam would be an excellent thing to put right under the cockpit.
