Something tells me we're in for another great big group shot, and it's going to be reminiscent of the Imaginationland episode of South Park. I await this eagerly.

Popeye reminds me of a lot of the old guard that I knew from growing up at the docks. He looks absolutely fantastic.

I'm always impressed by the sheer variety in the people you draw Pubilus. It used to be that I expected superhero or supervillain pictures, or maybe another gigantic Star Wars group pic. Now I have no idea what you're going to come out with next. :)

If you're open to suggestion, a nice addition to your parade of extraordinary people would be Trinity and Mary Poppins :P

They are really cool.
Only critisizm would be that most of them seem to be rotated to the left a couple of degrees making them look like they´re about to fall over.

Right-handed, actually. The tilt is a peculiar defect that has been exceptionally difficult to correct; it becomes especially obvious when the image is flipped horizontally.

Left to right, the Beast, Bender Bending Rodríguez, Master Shake, Detective Lenny Briscoe, Lieut. Marsala, Maximus, Chamber, Cdr Luke Skywalker, and M. Han Solo.

In Gladiator, Maximus gives his name as "Maximus Decimus Meridias, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions." For the sake of this author's own satisfaction, his name is being unilaterally reinterpreted as Decimus Meridias Maximus, and his official position as Dux per Limitem Germanicum (Commander throughout the Germanic Frontier).

Left to right, Dr. Alan Grant, Grey Star the Wizard, He-Man, Jack Burton, Race Bannon, Signior Benedetto di Padova, Detective John McClane, Sir Galahad the Pure, Sir Perceval, Gandalf the Grey, Multiple Man, and (for comparison to Sir Galahad and Sir Perceval) the previous drawings of Sir Launcelot and King Arthur.

1Lt Juan Rico, Platoon Commander, 2nd Platoon, Company G, Third Regiment, 1st MI Division , and Capt. Victor "Pug" Henry, Commanding Officer, USS Northampton (CA-36), from Heinlein's Starship Troopers (Rico) and Wouk's The Winds of War and War and Remembrance (Henry).

First Lieutenant Rico's uniform is a combination of a World War I British Army officer's uniform with a modern US Army officer's lapels and warfare pin, a fourragère inverted from the colors of the Croix de Guerre, and The Parachute Regiment's beret (as befitting the Mobile Infantry's status as spaceborne infantry). The novel itself specifically describes "M.I. full dress" as a "maroon and light blue suit," with "gold braid and piping," and mentions that provisional third lieutenants wear "pips" on the shoulders (hence the use of British style rank, which is also appropriate as the Veterans movement that led to the Terran Federation system of government originated in Scotland). The lapel pins "T.F." are substituted for U.S., with a lightning bolt and arrow in place of the Green Berets' crossed arrows, and the rank insignia are based on those worn by the Royal Marines, with "MI" swapped for "RM." Rico's skin tone is dark, of course, because he is Filipino (not Argentinian). Presumably the uniform worn by enlisted men would have rank on the sleeves rather than the epaulets, and would not have a Sam Browne belt or the same types of lapel pins.

Captain Henry's uniform is much more straightforward. He is wearing working khaki with his captain's eagles on the collar and a Surface Warfare Officer pin on his left breast (this is an anachronism, of course, as the pin was not authorized until 1975).

Your attention to detail is impressive, Pubilus. I really like the look of Rico's uniform, and a lot of the assumptions, so to speak, that you made, really fit well with the MI.

I chuckled when I first saw Gomez, and chuckled again at seeing him in color. Also, nice coloring work on Samus. Very metallic.

For the past few months, all the pictures have been colored in Photoshop CS2 (a wonderful program, but prohibitively pricey).

This particular character, the hero from The Magic of Scheherazade, poses an unusual problem from the perspective of names. The game operates on the conceit that the player is the hero, and accordingly the player chooses his name (this player has always used the name "Isfa"). The only reference to him in the game itself is as the descendant of Isfa -- presumably spelt alif-sin-faa-alif maqsura -- , so in light of his presumable Arab or Persian background one supposes he might be dubbed Ibn Isfā (in a dynastic rather than directly patronymic sense). In a concession to personal preference, the name "Isfā Al Isfā" (Isfā of the house of Isfā) is being used.

A cleaner pencil version of the above, with much of the slap-dash quality removed (e.g., more as the uniform might look in the portrait mentioned in the book).
