The planet in question is would be considered paradice by most people's standards. It has terran ecology transplanted onto it and differs from earth geographically, instead of continents, it is a complex maze of seas and islands, most of which are tropical to temperate due to ocean currents and such. Technology level is basically that of modern day earth, with plenty of fossil fuels. The planet is populated with humans, which are basically a good solid mix of ethnic groups from all over earth with religion being done with one quarter being worshipers of moderate versions of Earth Religions that get along well enough with the rest being either atheists or agnostics.
They assume the title of King/Tsar/Imperator/Ceaser/Whatever, a constitutional monarch. You get a nice Palace in a capital. There is a parliament, but that handles internal affairs. You also have connection to Earth to see how things are going, and for a vacation if so you desire, although only you and your 25 relocated people are allowed to go between worlds with only the cloths on their backs and a backpack worth of stuff.
The size and prowess of your nation is based on your status and postcount. All nations have water barriers.

Officer Rostowski, BOR, was definitely going to have a huge headache in the evening.
During the last two days, he has managed to fight in a pitched gun battle, evacuate the wounded, sweep Amelian docks, double-back to Astoria via helicopter, co-ordinate an anti-sniper sweep of rooftops around Astoria University and now he was moved yet again to keep a watchful eye on people at the hospital. Thank God this was coming to an end - the BOR didn't have the kind of manpower necessary to protect the hospital
"RPG! RPG in the crowd!", he suddendly heard in his earpiece. Grabbin a pair of binoculars, he swept the crowd of spectators and journalists gathered near the hospital, all ruthlessly kept out from the building by a cordon of riot police and some airmobile troopers who arrive at the hospital with king Arik.
"Should I take a shot?", a sniper - one of about a dozen positioned around the rooftops - asked
"Negative, negative", Rostowski said into his microphone. He managed to find the man who was brandishing an inflatable mockup of an RPG-7. He seemed to be having a lot of fun, the idiot.
"Get somebody there and tell him he almost got himself killed"

"Sir, this isn't funny. There are a dozen sniper all around here and you almost got yourself shot because of that stunt.", a PeZookian police officer who just barely managed to squeeze through the crowd, was now scolding the young drunk who though it would've been a great idea to brandish a toy resembling an RPG-7.
"Fuck off, pig. This is a free country!", he shouted, and his buddies laughed. There were plenty of people who held little respect for the police in PeZookia, but most were smarter than to laugh in their faces. Especially when they were tired and irritated.
"Sir, you have two options. You put that goddamned toy away right now and never pull it out again, or you get to spend a week or two in jail and pay a hefty fine for disturbing the peace and insulting a police officer."
The guy responded with a flurry of insults, and five minutes later got tasered for his trouble. No officer doing security today was in the mood for bearing such assholes.

The motorcade looked impressive as always, with three separate limos and a bunch of black screening cars. Three separate national flags displayed themselves proudly on front bumpers - PeZookian, Shroomanian and Byzantine.
The cars pulled into the hospital grounds after making their way through the horrifyingly huge crowds outside. Inside the perimeter, things were surprisingly quiet, and all esteemed guests could disembark by the front door of the sprawling hospital complex.
They were welcomed by the hospital's director and senior staff. They were led to the third floor, where miss Jia was being examined.
The hospital was very crowded ; Even with the visit, the staff had hands full with work. Relatively underfunded, PeZookian health care had to contend with too few beds and a lack of qualified staff - nowadays, a shipyard worker or electronics technician earned far more than the average state-employed doctor. -
The guests were shown several rooms - the director seemed intent on showing them why the health care system needed more funding. He was determined to milk every opportunity to mention the problems with staff, equipment, lack of bed space...
Finally, however all three guests were brought to the third floor, and met with King Arik - who was there with Jia all the time during her examinations. The doctors explained they wanted to keep the King's consort here overnight, to make sure none of her many bruises and cuts were infected during her brief stay in a tropical jungle.

Four Frigates Transferred to Foreign Service
Four Gorgon-class frigates have been decomissioned from the Shinra Republic Navy and transferred to the navies of the Republic of Mangka and Tongdijuana. Two of the frigates were sent to Mangka and the other two to Tongdijuana. Navy officials said that a third frigate would eventually be given over to Tongdijuana at a later date.
These intra-alliance transfers will have the result of equiping the two MESS Principalities with one DDG and three FFHs apiece.
The outgoing frigates were replaced by new ships of the Fortuna-class of FFG.

While some of the communes had fallen easily to the Iron General's well trained troops, most had fought back bitterly. For the first few weeks of operations Alexander had tried to keep foreigners such as ProTec out of it. But their air assets were too valuable.
ProTec started moving mostly Iron Guard units in airmobile operations, as well as bringing in artillery with heavy lift birds. It was all pretty much textbook for awhile. Until a commune commanded by one Phillip Greenwood surprised everyone and cut off the 4th Infantry Regiment in a coordinated counter attack. He was also hitting the Alexandrian troops with mortars and other light artillery. Hard. ProTec made efforts to bring reinforcements in and evacuate casualties via helicopter, but lost several birds with some others so shot full of holes they would likely never fly again. Those operations were called off.
Desperate, the commander of the 4th needed help. ProTec planes airdropped supplies to his beleaguered men while the 1st Iron Guard Armor Regiment attempted to blast their way in. Meanwhile, an elite force of Iron Guard veterans and ProTec personnel attempted to relieve the 4th and ProTec’s downed pilots by going over the mountains on foot. All told the fighting was brutal and sometimes at extremely close quarters. There was no way to tell if the 4th would be able to hold together in time for help to get to them.

Wilkonia announces formal handover of ships to MESS
Today Wilkonia finalized the transfer process handing over three Adriana Lima class nuclear powered submarines. The vessels today held ceremonies handling over captaincy of the ship from the Wilkonian Imperial Navy to the MESS Naval Force. The three ships (the Alessandra Ambrosia Josie Maran and Molly Sims) will be re-chistened for service with the new battle group centered on the MS Illustrious.
Additionally the Navy announced that pilot qualification continues apace for MESS pilots who will be flying the 48 F-18/Fs which Wilkonia is donating for service aboard the Illustrious. Expectations are that final certification will be given to the air wing by the end of next month at which point they will be formally ceded to control of the MESS Naval Force.

AIRSHIP ARRAYS, BYZANTIUM'S BLIMPS
A high-tech stratellite equipped with Phase Radar Arrays floats over Crossrodian skies on its way to Byzantium.
The airshipyards of the MacMillan Multicorporation have launched their newest in a line of highly successful zeppelins and blimps - the Radar Array Airship.
Based on the surveillance ship design recently delivered to the Shadow Empire, the Airship Array is one of the largest vessels in the sky - surpassed only by the giant sky ships of the Bear Republic.
It sports a modern early-warning and detection similar to the AWACS airplanes in use by the world's air forces, though the exact specifications are classified. The key advantage of the Airship Array is the altitude it is capable of attaining, as well as its months-long air time courtesy of its small-sized nuclear power plant. It can also be modified to have solar panels on its dorsal side.
The radar was developed by Byzantine Air MacMillan (BAM) and the power plant is a joint product of Shroomanian and Byzantine nuclear technicians.

AIRSHIP ARRAYS, BYZANTIUM'S BLIMPS
A high-tech stratellite equipped with Phase Radar Arrays floats over Crossrodian skies on its way to Byzantium.
The airshipyards of the MacMillan Multicorporation have launched their newest in a line of highly successful zeppelins and blimps - the Radar Array Airship.
Based on the surveillance ship design recently delivered to the Shadow Empire, the Airship Array is one of the largest vessels in the sky - surpassed only by the giant sky ships of the Bear Republic.
It sports a modern early-warning and detection similar to the AWACS airplanes in use by the world's air forces, though the exact specifications are classified. The key advantage of the Airship Array is the altitude it is capable of attaining, as well as its months-long air time courtesy of its small-sized nuclear power plant. It can also be modified to have solar panels on its dorsal side.
The radar was developed by Byzantine Air MacMillan (BAM) and the power plant is a joint product of Shroomanian and Byzantine nuclear technicians.

Apparently a new modification of Su-27 naval fighter - which the Ministry of Proliferation uneasily corroborated was real and had the Su-27KM designation - is seen here flying over some unknown craft.
The Red Technocracy's Supreme Council or any other governmental body refused comment over what the photo depicts.
The Kane's Defense Weekly, an authoriative journal on modern military analysis, hired artists and retired professionals, including former Red Technocracy military servicemen, to assemble a probable 3d representation of the machine.
Rumors swirl that the "Izdelie 2500" is the key product of "BLACK SORMOVO" (the rest being a mere funds diversion).
The Red Technocracy's government once again declined to comment whether "Izdelie 2500" exists and what it's real purpose and TTC are.

Anonymous sources have confirmed that the IRT Advanced Air Launched Missile will be bought to enhance the current nuclear deterrent, which officially consists of gravity bombs. The missiles will be cleared on the F-14Es, F-35Cs, and F-18Es, and the Tu-160s.

Rumors swirl that the Tian Xia Air Force is considering putting up a orbital kinetic strike similar to the UKB's SCORECARD system. System parameters that have been revealed to AvLeak have shown a collection of multi-ton impactors in highly elliptical "Tundra" orbits. These orbits would place the impactors on the same side of Nova Terra as the archipelago at all times. The system has been code named "Mjolnir".

An anonymous source has revealed that the UKB's SCORECARD has been infected by a rootkit. The owners of the rootkit are apparently a corporation in the Incorporated Republic of Tonkin. This would give the IRT control of the power invested in SCORECARD.

In this case, it was mostly naval forces on exercise, but then something happened. The computer systems simply did not know how to interpret the data coming back from one small sector - raw information was being dumped into the system. The readings, impossible ... all they knew was that something just engulfed a Shepnukistani naval taskforce.

Construction equipment shipped over have been heavily involved in reconstruction and clearing all the debris, after the locals have been trained to use them of course. Byzantine civil servants have been hard at work in both countries training the local civil servants to run their own governments. To stamp out corruption, law enforcement bodies were formed to audit government accounts and to regularly inspect various government departments. Civil servants were paid well, and often with Byzantine currency.
Much of the economies in the two countries rely on Byzantine currency, until both economies were strong enough to start adopting their own. For the moment however, plans were drawn to begin construction of factories that produced textiles and agricultural goods. Some of these goods will be traded between the two nations, or for internal consumption, or for external export. The Education systems in the two nations were also heavily reformed to ensure a steady stream of educated people ready to take on the task of running their countries. It will take decades, but in time, both countries should at least approach 2nd World standards within the next two decades.
On the military and police side, efforts were made to train competent militaries and police. Smuggling and illegal trafficking of drugs was declared a serious offence and efforts will be made to stamp them out.
The two nations however are weary of their northern neighbour, who continues a relatively vast arms build up. While protection of the Diocese was guaranteed by the Byzantine Empire which might be willing to sell more arms to the Diocese, the Sulltanate has been adviced to seek perhaps FUN help and support.

Imperial Byzantine Air Force and Army engage in massive joint exercises
With the formation of the new airbourne division, it was essential to formulate new doctrines pertaining to the use of the new division. As such, the Imperial Byzantine Air Force and Army will engage in 2 week long exercises which will include some live firing. The exercises underscore the Defence Ministry's commitment to the safety of the nation.
IBAF orders 30 AT-45Ds from Douglas in Tian Xia.
To beef up training especially with the addition of new aircraft, the IBAF has ordered 30 AT-45Ds. The AT-45Ds will be used to train pilots destined to serve in the IBAF, the IBA and the IBN.
IBN orders the conversion of 24 of the existing F/A-18 F to EA-18G.
The IBN has ordered that 24 of the remaining F/A-18F be converted to the EA-18G. The IBN has also indicated that it may request for newer aircraft in the future. Byzantine Aeronautics will be servicing the conversion.
IBA reform proposals.
Reform proposals have been made to the IBA on how best to ensure a lean and efficient fighting force to ensure that the IBA is well prepared to face future threats. The proposals are still classified however.

Imperial Byzantine Air Force and Army engage in massive joint exercises
With the formation of the new airbourne division, it was essential to formulate new doctrines pertaining to the use of the new division. As such, the Imperial Byzantine Air Force and Army will engage in 2 week long exercises which will include some live firing. The exercises underscore the Defence Ministry's commitment to the safety of the nation.
IBAF orders 30 AT-45Ds from Douglas in Tian Xia.
To beef up training especially with the addition of new aircraft, the IBAF has ordered 30 AT-45Ds. The AT-45Ds will be used to train pilots destined to serve in the IBAF, the IBA and the IBN.
IBN orders the conversion of 24 of the existing F/A-18 F to EA-18G.
The IBN has ordered that 24 of the remaining F/A-18F be converted to the EA-18G. The IBN has also indicated that it may request for newer aircraft in the future. Byzantine Aeronautics will be servicing the conversion.
IBA reform proposals.
Reform proposals have been made to the IBA on how best to ensure a lean and efficient fighting force to ensure that the IBA is well prepared to face future threats. The proposals are still classified however.
IBA orders 48 Su-39 to form 4 squadrons, 1 brigade of Coalition-SV turrets and 1 brigade of BMD-4
The IBA has ordered 48 Su-39 (Su-25TM) with advanced avionics and jamming systems for closed in air support, and 1 brigade of Coalition-SV turrets and 1 brigade of BMD-4 from Red Technocracy.

The 4-story building with an unknown bunker size has been formally comissioned as the headquarters for NSC. VADM Davis, at the comissioning ceremony, said;
"As the DoD re-organizes and we shift rowards a more 'total war' strategy, the importance of the NSC has grown to beyond to office constraints of the Trigon."
The new NSC shield was unveiled as well, a mailed fist clenching two lightening bolts with a star in the background.
Deadeye 4 launches
The first "Deadeye" series of satellites to be launched in years was launched yesterday morning, it will take up a Geostationary orbit over the Island of Neverhood.

The bases at Galveston, El Paso, and Corpus Christi are crowded with vessels as, for the first time in years, there isn't a persistent Strike Group deployed overseas.
Indeed, except for the Jim Bowie undertaking minesweeping operations off the TL coast, no major surface unit has deployed since the near-nuclear disaster last year.
While work-ups and exercises in the local seas continue, the LSRN current has no plans for a deployment, and in fact many of the exercises are "virtual", allowing ships pierside to wargame with other MESS vessels pierside.

ARES IV launches first component of "Skylab" space station
The LSR is well on the way to providing a permanent outpost in space with the successful launch of the first half of the "Skylab" space station.
"The original design called for one very large super-heavy booster," NAC Director Jim Hickam, "We modified it so we could launch it in two pieces."
The Skylab will be operated by the NAC, with astronuats from the MSA manning it for experiments.
