See, this is why Umeria is awesome. We don't have this kind of problem with our financial system.

Instead, we have completely different problems with our financial system! Like convincing someone to give you a loan to start a business when you aren't doing any of the Things On The List To Be Encouraged...

I aim to please; was also aiming for a bit of a double entendre with Fox, hence some of my choice of words.

Scene Four of Glowworm is next in the queue after I finish the fourth Battle of Bannerman segment.

OK. I decided to split my fourth Battle of Bannerman piece. Thus, the fourth is up; the fifth will be coming as practical.

The monolith is $10,000?!?

Did we just encounter a situation where the "its over 9000!" meme is actually appropriate? Fuck guys, another sign of the apocalypse down. Now, in the 2012 World Series when the Cubs play the Sox and win in the 7th game in extra innings the world can end properly.

And sorry for being a lazy ass about stuff guys. Shoulda got stuff done but instead watched Eureka Seven for surfing robots and odd anthropology references.

Indeed. He was the commander of the Cutter Group. Him dying while his plucky yet outgunned band of small ships occupied their target long enough so that (hopefully, it remains to be seen) the rest of the fleet could finish the job, and not let the Pendletonian frigate escape.

That's worthy of a TV movie right there, at the very least. :D

Although, if one ups the drama and such, you could even go feature length, in all major theaters movie.

EDIT: He wasn't, by any chance, two days from retirement was he?

No, actually, he only had about ten years in service. He was angling for a slot in the Advanced Tactical School so he could move up to a starship command, with an eye to some interesting rumors about the idea of large manned-craft fleet carriers coming into service in the next decade or two.

So no, retirement was nowhere on the horizon for Bob.

EDIT: there's more drama yet to come, guys!

Well that is interesting.

A real pity that the Imperium couldn't care less is too damn far away to punish an insignificant planet. If we had known the Collectors would come, a couple of Retribution battleships plus a couple of heavy cruisers and their escorts would be present. Probably a Battle Barge might tag along, along with a coterie of Adeptus Mechanicus who would be quite eager to feast themselves on a carcass of a Collector ship.

EDIT: Also...

Brave Sir Hushy ran away.
Bravely ran away, away!
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Hushy turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Hushy!

On the plus side, it means that Pezook has at most 5 of them. And that's only if the escorts are basically gnats.
If the conjecture about there being 20 Monoliths total is true though they weigh in at between $2000-3000 each.

Edit: and i wouldn't put it past Steve to have written 10,000 purely to amplify the Fear, uncertainty and Doubt factor.

The Commune is positively impressed by the Collectors' use of the shock factor.

And man, Siege, you've sent ships to SELL stuff to the Commune? You realize, of course, that trade is considered an abomination in our small patch of space? :D
