On the shape of the Unified Imperium, square with a few sectors sticking out.

I'll see what I can do. Where is it again? And which sides are the sticking-out on?

Its in the Northwest, with the bits sticking out facing south and east.

Good thing I don't want Arcadia gray then...don't want to upset the little alien dudes. :)

Incidentally, I liked the shade of blue that Shinn used in his map back on page 2 (or was it 3?). Though the SPACE VIKINGS would need another color to keep them separate.

I can go with white or near-white (Silver or such) if the grays really need, well, gray.

Hey guys, after a moment of thought, I feel my current placement is making the center-southeast corner too crowded and so I'm considering moving myself elsewhere. I'm currently thinking of filling out the southwest corner of the map.

You just want a clean shot at some of those juicy Volscian sectors. :D

Which is totally fine. I'd actually kind of like to see the map of known space evolve a little over time in this game, once we have everything up and running.

Now that I've organized my nation again, I request to have my six sectors be put at BB2 facing downwards, and in a rectangle shape.

...So you're playing xenophobic isolationists and you want to sit in the corner?

Are you sure you've thought this through?

I'm not playing as xenophobic isolationists, for one thing. I failed to describe the idea properly to Skywalker - They're on the mild side of xenophobic, having many trust issues, but being nice enough that you can sit down and have a chat with them, although you should be careful as to what you choose to talk to them about. They're obviously not isolationist. I don't know how you got the isolationist part.

You can also just cal them the blahs and blohs until I finally get my revised stuff up in the Nation Description thread.

Uuuuur. I kinda wanted no one southwest of me, since that's the direction I wanted Land's End to be pointing towards. (Mostly my bad, I should have been more clear in here that I wanted to be doing that.) I'm totes cool with you being near the Volsci for additional shenanigans, though - I just want that direction clear to have Land's End as the Station at the End of the World, basically.

You might consider relocating, FL.

That said, Scottish Ninja, if you wanted no one to be out there you blotted out an awful lot of space that no one's supposed to occupy. Several dozen sectors. You guys think about it for a bit, OK?

The Volscians' initial placement was largely my fault. Here's my attempt at correcting that mistake:

Revised map HERE

I've also added some other stuff, like the Arcadians (and their Viking nemeses), the Capellans (I hope OmegaChief doesn't mind me shifting them slightly), the Cernans, the Commonwealth, the UISC, and the placeholder for KhorneFlakes's new nation. I also shifted the Holy Empire's position slightly. Not really sure how to fulfill Zor's request, seeing as the Unified Imperium has a total of nine sectors that can form a perfect square without any odd bits sticking out.

Ok, maybe I can fill out the center-west area of the map.

B-18 (Foxa - Colony Sector)
C-18 (Clankor - Colony Sector)
D-18 (Blackagar - Colony Sector)
B-19 (Aybeem - Core Sector)
C-19 (The Center - Home Sector)
D-19 (Dovan - Core Sector)
B-20 (Novadon - Midrange Sector)
C-20 (Maschtek - Midrange Sector)
D-20 (Hissgerd - Midrange Sector)
E-19 (Rimland - Colony Sector)

There you go.

Nice I like how it is coming together, good to get an idea of where the nations are going. the SPACE VIKINGS seem to have a clear path to raid along the central core of the galaxy. Theres a great big empty swath cutting through the map right now that I foresee becoming important later on.

Well, I'm actually a little concerned about the total number of nations and how sparse things are, but I may just be a worrywart.

I hope to have some time to put together another map draft this weekend. Things are kinda messy on my end.

No objection here, but I'm pondering moving them up and to the right by one or two sectors now, both to help Scottish Ninja have his Lands end, and to nudge me a little closer to the Hellens/Chamarrans for that aspect for myself.

And conicdently a little closer to the Holy Empire, making the Authority into a nice halfway spot between them and the confederacy to help that neat triangular trade we've got going.
