I usually push for mercy in banning cases. But this is beyond unacceptable. Show him the door, contact an authority figure about what he did here, and then purge him like we did RayCav.

I give you my strong second in reporting him to the FBI. While we're at it, let's play Net Detective and drag out his ISP and employers. Addresses, phone numbers, and pics would be a nice greasy bonus as well. Even bigger bonus would be getting Digg or Reddit on his ass.

Did the link itself directly lead to Child pornography, or just to the FBI search list? FOr the former, absolutely, but if it is the latter, which is what I understood it to be, then I am not certain we have grounds to drag this into law enforcement.
I don't want to descend to his level of "intentionally fucking up someone's life" without a clear cut case that his actions constitute criminal acts.

Though I would absolutely support anyone who was harmed by his actions seeking civil restitution.

It's not our right nor place, IMO, to make a determination about whether or not he committed a crime. You're saying "Intentionally fucking up someone's life" here--that would only take place if he had committed a crime. If he has committed a crime and you refuse to report it, you are yourself committing a crime and this post by itself could be cause for charges to be pressed against you by the government, I hope you realize. The only sane thing for us to do is report it to the appropriate authorities, and basically let the FBI make a determination on whether or not charges should be pressed. We have no right or duty to take that decision into our own hands, and it would in fact be illegal for us to do so.

I strongly recommend the appropriate material be turned over to them immediately without further delay, and I can't understand why anyone would oppose that measure--if you think a crime may have been committed, you report everything you know, and let the authorities make a determination on whether or not to pursue the individual in question. Why shouldn't you?

I have cast my ballot. From my comments elsewhere, the nature of my vote should be perfectly evident.
