Alexandrov time to grow a thicker skin. Saying calling your opponents "immature names accomplishes nothing" accomplishes nothing in of itself. Personally I see what you're saying as whining, and it has nothing to do with other people calling you a whiner what what I see. You want to walk in and question why the rules are there and you say this is different than desiring the rules to be changed. That's a mighty fine line you're treading there and if you walk it you shouldn't be surprised if people think you're on the wrong side.

People will talk behind your back, call you names, backstab you, hate you. It's part of work, and though it shouldn't be a part of school, at the very least teachers shouldn't be afraid to call a spade a spade. Looks like you're the product of a culture where red pen marks are not allowed and kids are not allowed to be called stupid. Better fix yourself before shell shock destroys you in the real world or college.

Alexandrov wrote: Why do you insist on interpreting a simple question wondering why you enjoy flaming so much as whining that you are doing so?

I don't need objective evidence, but I know I wasn't whining, and my original statement is obviously not whining, unless you preconceive it to be that way.

Finally, questioning was a bit nebulous, I admit. I in no way intended for that to mean discussing policy changes (although I can't make the connection, since to me it simply states question why they are there, rather than move for amendment). Sorry.

P.S. And yes, my later statements may be leaning towards the whiny side, but when otherwise intelligent people continually insist on being stupid and obstinate over something they are wrong about, it gets annoying.
So wait, let me get this straight. You admit to saying some of your post might be on the whiny side, but you choose to whine about being called on it?
And since I can't edit, and forgot this, you aren't contributing to this, so why don't you just leave. Your opinions are obviously biased off of the posts of other people, and it is blatant that you haven't actually analyzed the thread or seen what is happening.
Pot, meet kettle.

More for cheerleaders and at least in my class, several were not the bimbos. One of the cheerleaders was also Valedictorian and I knew at least three or four others in my honors/AP classes.
That's another thing i just don't get about school culture in the US, cheerleading seems to require a fair amount of athleticism but instead of going off and playing sport and achieving stuff themselves girls take on the subservient role or cheering boys on whilst wearing short tight clothing, that just doesn't sit well with me.

That's not necessarily the case. Cheerleaders in high school and college have competitions of their own, in addition to what they do at other sporting events.

Having just read this thread, all I can say is "wow." I mean, even for a dumb high schooler in the "rebel without a clue" phase, this kid is pretty bad. Whining, backpedaling, complaining about the rules and picking fights with Mike is a sure way to ensure a brief stay at SDN.

Hey, dipshit, here's something for you:
PR4 wrote:On this forum, it is considered perfectly acceptable to flame people simply for being dishonest or stupid, no matter how polite they are. I am aware that on most forums, stupidity or dishonesty alone are not considered grounds for flaming. However, those forums' rules do not apply here.

If you insist on staying and ranting about how you much you object to our rules, we will make you leave.
AR4 wrote:If you have a complaint about the whole board, you are obviously unhappy here, so leave. Complaints like "so this is the way you do things at SD.Net" and "the prevailing attitude here seems to be" etc clearly indicate that you dislike something about our entire board culture and you should leave. If you persist on staying and acting like this, we will make you leave.

In other words, shut the fuck up, or get the fuck out, you pathetic snivelling worthless whiny scumfucker.

Wow. The original thread was HOSed and it spawned a second thread that is now here... has this happened before?

And to think, none of this would have happened if I didn't post the OT in testing. I guess that place is dangerous.

Alexandrov: Regardless of the rules, though I doubt he would violate them himself, it is Darth Wong's board. If he feels like flaming you, even if it is for NO fucking reason, that is his right. If you don't like it or think it is unfair, leave. It really is that simple.

OR you could try making an actual argument and defending your points. Even if you end up loosing, you would garner more respect than just whining.

While that is their primary role, it's not all they do. For that reason, it's a mistake to characterize cheerleaders as not "achieving stuff themselves" and "tak[ing] on the subservient role".

In what way is it a mistake to characterise cheerleaders by what they spend most of their time doing? ie. playing a subservient role to male athletes by bouncing around prettily on the sidelines in a supporting role to male athletes instead of getting out on the field themselves.

Because when Cheerleading is treated as a sport, instead of just eye candy, there are no males involved.

Some cheerleaders developing cheerleading into a 'sport' doesn't magically mean that most high school cheerleaders aren't subservient in their primary role which is as supportive eye candy.

True, although the existence of male cheerleaders (Shrubya was one!) does contradict that somewhat.

Why don't we see male cheerleaders at the Super Bowl? Or are they there, and the TV camera is simply ignoring them in favour of the superior visual of the female cheerleaders?

In any case, regardless of the answer to that question, the fact that female cheerleaders wear miniskirts while male cheerleaders wear pants is a pretty clear indication of what the female cheerleaders are there for.

The High School I graduated from (East Bay Area, California,) was fairly college-prep centered, and sports were viewed as;

a) ways to have fun and get in shape, and

b) a way to skip PE

(It also probably helped that the football team wasn't much good...)

If a game, be it football, lacrosse, or soccer was being played, high school kids mostly showed up to just meet friends, etc.

At the track meets I attended, there were no real 'rivalries,' and people from all schools got on rather well.

In the school itself, academic success and intelligence were viewed as assets, not liabilities.

Huh. Guess I got lucky in not having the 'stereotypical High School Experience'

It would be nicer and very much more equal if male cheerleaders wore uniforms easier on the eyes. Something a bit like this [WARNING INCOMING EYECANDY!]

I'd imagine it would be trivially easy to change the colors to reflect the team colors and sew on a team badge or piping.

My school was nearly the reverse:

A> PE was mandatory

B> It was not meant to be fun

C> HS Football team was a bunch of gigantic firebreathing beasties who regularly slaughtered every other team up to State level.

Ah, somewhat, but it was more interpersonal politics (read: popularity contest eternal!)

Damn you, Einy... Once again you gay up threads with your gay pictures of gay dudes. How... err, gay. Hey speaking of gay, you don't happen to know any hot lesbians, do you? And if you're posting dudes in tight clothes, where's that one fat guy wearing Tron suit with the camel toe?

Is anyone else not understanding the point of the OP's post? All I can see (sort of) is it that he thinks intelligent people are snobs... I know of lots of snobby groups, and some are very very stupid. Fundies are a great example.

It is to my experience that snobs are snobs are snobs. Not professionals who are the the top authority on their subject matters. Not ignorant hicks who are proud of the fact that they are ignorant hicks. And not any of the types of people along the scale between the two examples I posted.

They can be either and be snobs, or they can be either and respect your differences in opinions and be among your friends. I've met them all, and I've learned not to judge anyone by their IQ or their knowledge level or even their beliefs the hard way, and Alexandrov, don't make that mistake.

Oh, and as a person who just read through the entire thread in one go, yes you are whining.

I wasn't whining when I asked Darth Wong about flaming; it was a serious question. If you think otherwise, than so be it. I can't control you misinterpreting something.

That said, this thread is pointless because both sides are arguing in circle and not listening to each other. Thus, I will stop posting about the whining issue, forget it, and move on.

You're a lying little shit, Alexandrov. You have been doing nothing but complaining about things and how you're being misinterpreted even when EVERYONE EXCEPT YOU has taken your words in the same manner. So shove that attitude of superiority right up your ass. You've been semantics games and going "I concede, but <insert smarmy weaseling>" and then acting surprised that everyone isn't accepting your bullshit and nodding sagely and coddling you. If for some reason you are being truthful about that bit, it just reveals that you did not go to the trouble of reading the rules before you started posting and your behavior earlier when telling other posters to leave if they don't like your bullshit make me suspect that you just figured that you could get away with ignoring the rules if you gave some excuses.

Awwww, poor baby, your stinking pool of liquid shit wasn't taken at face value and accepted, which makes all the rest of us big meanies who are picking on the poor, put-upon genius.

Here's another newsflash, fuckwit: We've read all of your arguments, we've analyzed them, we've refuted them and after that we've tossed them in the trash bin where they rightfully belong. Unlike with the mollycoddling you seem to have been getting all of your life, there is no requirement here to come halfway to you and compromise just so you could feel good about yourself. There is a term for that kind of idiocy, which is called the golden mean fallacy. Look it up, asshole.

I love the way this whiny brat sees that everyone except for him interprets his words the same way, and concludes that everyone is misinterpreting him.

Maybe your mother should have told you: if everyone seems to have a communication problem according to you, maybe you are the one who actually has the communication problem. Either that or you're just a lying little shit, which is what pretty much everyone has already concluded.

Sorry about that, Edi.

Alexandrov, you are a fucktard.
You, in my PM box wrote:Your post about leaving the forum was completely stupid, unnecessary, and wrong. I wasn't talking to you, and I wasn't telling everyone to leave and stop posting. I was talking specifically to one person who had obviously not analyzed the thread and formulated his own thoughts about the issue. Your post indicates that you just wanted to join in the pointless flaming, and appear cool to the mods to make up for your transgressions earlier. Your purpose is extremely evident, and also extremely pointless. If I wasn't in such a terrible position with the administration, I would lodge a complaint about you violating rules. However, since they won't listen to me because of their blinders, you can just go about life, content to know that you broke rules but got away with it. I just wanted you to know that your post was stupid, and that I know exactly what you were intending.

P.S. And if it wasn't what you were intending, I will just continue to insist that despite any evidence to the contrary. It is what everyone else did to me, so I figure I can do it to. You should know how it feels.
You are a liar and a fucking troll. You've twisted my words and your own words out of true despite a RECORD OF EXACTLY WHAT WAS SAID WHEN IT WAS SAID (This forum) existing, thereby insulting the memory and intelligence of everyone here. You then stated clear intentions to assume bad faith and persist in attacks despite all evidence of their undeservedness. Now you've PMed me this whiny-bitch screed in an attempt to single me out for attack in a manner that benefits you. You, sir, are in the exact same leage as George W. Bush. I will not fall for it, you cunt. Enjoy your banstick, you vindictive, petulant, temper-tantruming asshole.
