All these markets exist to balance supply against demand, and to eliminate inefficient providers. If these resources were allocated by committee you would have far more inefficiency since the economy is intrinsically much more complex a system than you realize: this complexity is not simply a property of the model we use.

Moreover, running thngs by committee invites the specter of more corruption, not less, since more important decisions will be made by higher-ups than before (read: all the important decisions). With the market system it is the consumers, average people who allocate their earnings to the various companies and so make or break them as the companies have to respond to their needs and desires.
