The best medical technology

Post by Darth Wong »

Who's got it?

I'd say most first-person shooters. In any of those games, you can be healed from gunshot wounds, plasma burns, blunt-force trauma, or even biological and/or toxic poisoning the instant you touch one of those "health power-ups" :)

Yeah, you can't beat first person shooters. Especially Wolfenstein 3D, where eating turkey would heal you.

Best Medicine

The universe of Honor Harrington anyone? Quick-heal sounds more realistic to me than a shot from a hypo (Star Trek) and the notion that not everone can take advantage of modern 'miracle' cures is appealing to me somehow.

exactly, I have been playing unreal for some time and you can be healed as long as you have 1 unit of life left. despite facing swords, crossbows, chainsaws, plasma rifles and machine guns, not to mention toxic arrows.[/quote]

Technically, Star Wars has some of the finest medical technology that Mr. Wong mentions. Ask Kyle Katarn what I mean...lol.

How about the Goa'uld sarcophagous from stargate.

I was particularly amused by the guy they sealed into one with a creature, kind of like the beetles from the mummy

That was the best scene of the whole movie.

While Warcraft 3 is not exactly sci-fi, I reincarnated 6 of my soldiers while in the middle of a battle. This counts as pretty good medical abilities.

Someone mentioned System Shock 2. Great game, even better life insurance policies if you got the moola.

In Resident Evil eating plants can heal you! You don't even have to prepare them, just pull them straight outta the potting mix!

I also like the fact that the entire personality and memory of an object could be stored in one singal cell! Now that is medical technology!
