The 100 Season 4

Postby EnterpriseSovereign » 2017-04-05 09:49pm

First episode of the new season just aired here in the UK, I noticed they referenced Fukushima with regard to nuclear disasters. Not entirely sure how a nuclear power plant that was designed to be self-sustaining for 100 years would go into meltdown at the end of that. Though the power plant would have to be fairly close to the survivors for the radiation to reach lethal levels that quickly. Apart from a few ground vehicles and horses they have no way of travelling long distances to the reactors located on other continents, so unless they're all networked together each one would have to be taken care of individually.
It's no use debating a moron; they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Your claim of using a scientific equation is laughable when all you have done is butcher science to the point it makes 'The Core' look like a fucking documentary. Just because you have the attention span of a fruit fly doesn't mean the rest of us are so encumbered.

Starting to notice a few clichés creeping into the show in the first couple episodes.

We had our heroes being sent to one of the crashed ships to retrieve a hydro generator which would have been very useful in the shelter they were working on. Only it turns out the ship in question is being used by one of the grounder tribes as a sweatshop using slave labour- it so happens that the hydro generator could also be rigged to explode and help rescue those same slaves (one of whom was a skycrew member). And surprise surprise, it just so happens the slaves are due to be moved the next day so the good guys can't simply get the machine then return with reinforcements to save them- so of course they choose to blow up the generator to save them.

Jasper has become the resident douchebag so of course he's the one to find the list of 100 names (since the ship can only house 1/4 of the skycrew group) and gets locked up trying to announce it... only for Monty to read it out over loudhailer when he's informed he's not on it. Somewhat ironically it's Jaha (the zealot) who comes up with the idea of a lottery to decide who lives and dies, with the condition that only those who carry out their duties can be eligible. Because he agrees with Clarke's selection he provides the illusion that will motivate the others, implying that the 'lottery' will be rigged such that her choices will be the ones chosen regardless. This is bound to cause problems a few episodes down the line...

King Roan that Skycrew had been propping up because he's on their side suddenly turns on them and killing one of the redshirts because DRAMA! Octavia tries to warn Skycrew of his betrayal only to be cornered and impaled by Echo's sword- why anyone would think Octavia would let them take her alive isn't even addressed. Yet despite this, in a truly epic display of bullshit Roan and Echo actually claim they're sorry that she died in escaping capture.

Despite being run through and falling off the cliff into the river below it's revealed that Octavia not only survives but has (barely) enough strength to climb back onto her horse. The same horse that she was riding earlier and had gotten to flee yet was able to find her washed up on the river bank.
It's no use debating a moron; they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
