Absolutely wrong. The "Big eyes" convention in anime was more or less originated by Osamu Tezuka so that he could have his characters express their emotions more easily and visibly.

Additionally, it's almost painfully obvious that with a WH40K anime, you're not going to get the lighter character designs you find in series like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, or Heaven forbid, Yu-Gi-Oh!. It would be something that's more realistically grounded or at least less stylised like those in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Witch Hunter Robin, Evangelion, or Zeta Gundam.

Eldar are freakish enough in body form as it is, Giving them big eyes would be painful to see.

Despite the fantasies of various fan writers...

That said, it usually is the more innocent characters who have the largest eyes in many series. And not always because they're kids. Compare Sasami, Washu, and Mihoshi on Tenchi Muyo, for example.

....

Considering that Washu is one of the Choushin, she's hardly innocent, not to mention that her actions and behavior don't point in such a direction, either.

But that's really besides the point: your nitpick does no damage to my argument. :P

But that was my point. Despite being similar in age to Sasami physically, she is most certainly not innocent, and you can kinda see that by looking at her eyes.

Then you have Mihoshi, who, while she's about twice Sasami's age physically, her eyes are just as wide and expressive.

Hmmm... I wonder how they would look with their eyes switched...

Whatever, this shit hardly has anything to do with my main point, to which it's just a nitpick, or to WH40K, the actual subject of the thread.

What would bother me is the Japanese tendency to give elven characters those huge-freaking needle-point ears. WTF is up with that? Even WoW does it with their Nightelves.

actually all Elves in warcraftverse have over extanded needle point ears (and some eye brows that match), in my opinion that's because anime does it (same with the bikini armor that elven archers wear in WC3) and they're making fun of it.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Also is the first picture a Marine harvesting Geneseed?
I've ripped Chaos Gate's music (I own it, so yes it's legal), and while musically it is indeed fantastic, the problem is that being a fairly old game, the music is of terrible quality. The brass in particular is painfully synthesized, the whole soundtrack desperately needs a modern version.

As for the pictures, yes, the apothecary is extracting one of the fallen's progenoids.

Needle-point or Vulcan, elves are still fucked in that department.

What is with the attention on the ears when most likely they're end up as guro fodder.

I'm unfamiliar with WH40K. What's a guro? Some kind of carnivore?
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

From Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ero-guro wrote:Ero-guro is a genre of Japanese pornography and hentai involving blood, gore, disfiguration, mutilation, urine, enemas, or feces. The term is gairaigo derived from the English phrase "erotic grotesque", and is frequently shortened to simply guro.
For WH40K only blood, gore, disfiguration, and mutilation would imply.

I guess this is one more reason for me to avoid the WH40K franchise like the plague-- I do NOT think mutilation is erotic, although it might be humorous if the person being mutilated is a rapist/violent extremist (think the KKK, Nazis, and al-Qaeda).

No wait, I don't think 40K has anything at all like ero-guro. Sounds like someone's just being a spaz-whore.

:wtf:

Well, great, not many of us 40Kers do either. I'm still confused as to where in the Nine Hells you are getting this idea that 40K is supposed to be erotic.

sidewinder, you do realize that "guro" is not a wh40k term, but rather a subset of hentai (that is, perverted anime), right?

It's more of a Japanese porno art fetish, since I cannot see how a ero-guro anime could even be released.

But then it also isn't something exclusive to the Japanese: there are plenty of pervert fucks in the West who do that kind of shit, too.

But it doesn't have anything to do with WH40K.

Nope, no sex, nettes, sisters, banshees, just various blokes (Marines, Guard, Orks, Elder and etc) hacked or blown to itsy bitsy little pieces in the middle of a firefight. Through GW is the one to decide to how graphic the violence will be, especially with regards to the director choices already mention earlier in the thread.

Also more importantly what is the youngest age group it can be marketed to?
