It looks like his head is going be shot out of a mounted cannon.

If this new Devastator design is going to work in any way, it definitely won't work as a toy.

None of the movie designs really seem to translate well into toys. I'm not surprised that it's even worse for a gestalt character.

Jazz worked pretty well...
And word on whether we'll get him back?

Last I checked, Jazz being ripped in half was a major crimp on his whole being alive thing.

Isn't Barricade still alive? He was seen in the highway pursuit, but then he completely disappeared and was never in any of the battle scenes. He was also conspicuously absent in the "dumping the dead robots overboard" scene.

Hmm. The big unicycle looks like the top half of the Devastator toy.

Barricade was supposed to fight Prime on the highway and hold him up more than Bonecrusher ( ). You see him during the Decepticon roll call and on the highway, but not after. He could still come back. I mean, Brawl was called Devastator in the first film and now we have the real Devastator in it.

Oh sure, and getting the all-spark crammed into your chest cavity is very conducive to medical attention. :banghead:

IIRC, in the comic adaptation, Barricade crashed in the highway. That's why he was unable to join the other Decepticons in Mission City.

Barricade will be in the TF2, he's supposedly the Audi Decepticon.

I'm glad Spike's dad seems to be more than mere comic relief this time around.

edit- oops, he's not called Spike in the movies :banghead:

He wasn't called Spike in the Marvel comics, either.

That's odd; I was always a much bigger fan of the comics than the cartoons. Looks like Alzheimer's is setting in early...

They said there was a way in one of the early scripts for Sam to get the nickname "Spike", so we might see the old nomiere yet.

Actually, eventually they Sondra-Huxtabled the comics so that Spike Witwicky appeared late into the series as the elder brother to the Buster Witwicky, which I believe had to be done because there was a Spike toy who became a part of the Headmaster Cerebros, who is the head of Fortress Maximus.

I have to wonder, why weren't those Decepticons detected before they hit the Carrier, and why was there a total failure of the escorts to defend their charge?

Also, if there is anything tranformer related at Giza, I will eat Optimus Prime. Enough with the secret knowledge of the ancients and all that bunk, we already had the whole Micheal Bay plot with alien technology providing us with our technological advances in the first movie. We do not need to add Ancient Astronauts to that.

IIRC, the stuff in Egypt revolves around reinterpreting hieroglyphics (or something like that) which proves that Transformers have been to/on Earth in the distant past.

Also, how easy is it really to defend something like an aircraft carrier from what's pretty much like getting hit by meteorites?

Impossible. Even with the DDGs and other guided missile ordnance, you'd never stop hypersonic chunks of alien alloy falling vertically like that. The reaction time alone would fuck you up, even if you had the power to vape such incoming and leave nothing to rain on the fleet.

Yeah, the Egypt thing is going to have Transformer shenangigans, which will revolve around the misinterpretation of hyieroglyphics. I don't mind much.

After the couple of weeks after I had seen the first movie, I was kind of hoping that the sequel would give an excuse for our Autobot buddies to have a base in the mountains like in the cartoon, maybe hosted by Sector Seven so that the Autobots can stay out of the way. From a movie perspective however, I doubt there's much point. It would take one point of exposition too many and the net result so far as I can see would be negligable.

Oh yeah, and I seriously doubt Jazz is coming back. His only role in the movie was to die as a testament to Megatron's power, and even Prime didn't give a shit. Hell, even Ratchet got a funny line in.
