Rambo vs Bond

While on <insert mission to random forest area>, Bond discovers that one of the bad guy's henchmen is John Rambo (no reason given, just imagine it).

Now, could Bond defeat the one-man army or will he eventually fall?

Although Rambo has a distinct home advantage out in the jungle, Bond always wins in the end... Always.

Rambo. He's almost as indestructible as Steven Segal. Bond always seems to get captured by his foe, whereas Rambo just shoots them to bits.

James Bond usually looks cool in casual wear and the odd tuxedo. John Rambo... never looks cool. Therefore, Bond > Rambo.

The fact he can outwit and outmanuver the like of Jaws, Oddjob and Mayday(Grace Jones) shows that Rambo would be another day on the job for him.

Yes... The M-60 is lightweight, until you have to hump 30 miles with it.

Rambo takes it. Bond would be fucking someone in the middle of the jungle, then Rambo would smell the pussy from a mile away, find Bond, shoot him in his surprised face, and finish fucking the girl.

I still think Bond takes this one. While Rambo is cannon-fodder-chewing machine, he's really beaten only three Bad Guys (TM), and a handful of henchmen. Bond, on the otherhand, if you count all his movies, has sent many a maniacal would-be tyrant to their doom...

Rambo is only invincible in the jungle. When he attempts to move about a civilized area, his M60 will be taken away from him, leaving him with only his trademark slurred speech as a weapon. It goes without saying that even knives and handguns would be confiscated if he attempted to enter one of Bond's usual haunts such as a ritzy casino or a government building.

Bond, meanwhile, has a wide variety of lethal weapons which pass effortlessly through any form of customs or building security check by virtue of being utterly ridiculous, such as laser beams in his wristwatch or a bowtie that shoots acid. And he's smart enough not to go and fight some macho mano-a-mano contest in the jungle with the likes of Rambo.

Therefore, Bond wins.

Unless it jams, then it doesn't put bullets in anything. I was talking to a special forces armsmaster (I think that's what his title was) while I was in Guatemala, and he said that his unit tested the M-60 against the M240B. They dragged the ammo through grease and mud, etc. and then fired it. The M-60 jammed on the third shot, while the M240 fired the whole 250 round belt without issue. Anectodal evidence, I know, but the M-60 is well known to be unreliable and jam a lot. That's why they replaced it with the M240.

The worse problem with the M-60 is that the barrel would heat up a shitload, and needed to be replaced by the Machine Gunner during combat. In my unit, we still use M-60's. But we use the newest version of the M-249, so i guess it balances out. Come to think of it, we were still using M-16A1s until about three years ago. LOL. There's the State of Illinois for ya.
