What the hell is Blue Seed about?

They've recently been showing Blue Seed on the Encore Action channel. What the hell is it about? From what I can gather this special forces team hunts down insects mutated by something called a seed. Clues appreciated, folks...

Blue Seed is based off the Japanese legend of the Orochi. Any of you who've played the King of Fighters series should be a little familiar with it.

Basically, it's a story about how Susano-O(Think the Japanese version of guys like Hercules or Pecos Bill) saves a princess from an eight-headed dragon.

Matagma(sp?) are seed-like beads which seem to be minor spiritual symbols in Japan. You can see them often as jewelry in many animes based off history or mythology. Such as the "SIT!" necklace Inuyasha wears. In Blue Seed, they are the true bodies(souls) of the Aragami daemons, which can take over organic matter(mostly plants) and form a powerful body out of it.

The show has a good start, but later on, it gets kinda bogged down in environmentialism, and a bit of traditionalism as well towards the end. It may be because of the dubbing job(this is a classic ADV work), but it felt awfully heavy-handed in english.

I remember buying the first Blue Seed soundtrack CD back in 2001.

It was my first day of college, and I remember it as being so far the worst day of my entire life...

And yah, the japanese like drawing vaginas so they use every excuse they can to draw them.
Blue seed, while poinltess, is somewhat funny. Its worth watching in its timeslot.
