I would chose Hawk and Fisher from Simon Green

Aragorn and Arwen

She forsakes an eternal life for him. I think that means something. Second is Could and Aeris, they make a cute couple.

Well, even though they were brother and sister, I always liked the story of Turin Turambar and Nienor Niniel, from the First Age of Tolkien's works as told in Unfinished Tales as the Narn i Hin Hurin. Such tragedy... :(

I with Yosemite. Tristan and Isolde.

A second up would be Fei and Elly frm Xenogears, whose souls have been bound to one another since the creation of the Earth.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Sam and Sybil Vimes.
Practical, down-to-Disc couple that understand each other perfectly and support each other completely.

Willow and Oz.
Yeah, I know, it's wierd that I preferred Straight Willow, but he was crazy over her and she was so pretty when he lit ehr up, in a way that Tara never seemed to do.

Siegfried and Brünhilde.

The original swords-and-sorcery couple.
(Without the Niebelungenlied, the entire genre of fantasy wouldn't exist.)

I think there would have been fantasy without the Norse Epic, we already had some crazy Dane ripping arms out of the sockets of monsters that haunted festhalls, Odyssus, Journey to the West, A Hindu epic, and several more stories by that time.

I SO agree. Plus Oz is similar to a guy i know. It was so shit how he left. "I'm off to find out what the beast inside means"....yeah whatever joss/seth.

And er..um... Cloud and Aeris, and Marcus and Ivanova. I know that's sci fi, but i saw it where marcus died the other day and it was so beautiful....
