Why is it that certain folks will submit to full suspension of disbelief for the Force, but if anything from another fictional universe so much as slightly bends a law of physics it's analyzed all to shit?

Perhaps it is because using the Force is tapping into some kind of universal power, rather than fleshies just spontaneously getting stronger. Also, most people here have a good idea of what the Force is (this is StarDestroyer.net, duh) and it is relatively easier to find further information.

Speaking of shit, you're full of it. No one is saying that we can't suspend disbelief for Spiderman being able to lift 15 tons, for example. The problem is when you claim that something much greater than his official stats is occurring (eg- your claims that the official 15-ton figure is bullshit), and present garbage evidence for it that doesn't even make sense.

It isn't the power itself being "analyzed all to shit"; it's your bullshit attempt to claim that the official specs are all wrong, using science only when it suits you and ignoring all of the problems with your ignorant dishonest application of it.

I've already explained to you that Handbook stats have never been official, and website stats are even less official.

But that's not the issue.

What I'm refering to is when I post a picture of Spider-Man knocking over a subway car, and your insist the picture is actually proof that Spider-Man can't dent metal, and bullshit like that. Or when I post a reference of Silver Surfer fighting in a black hole and you insist that it never really happened because it "shouldn't" happen, even though it did.

And by the way, Wong, don't straw man. You know perfectly well that my issue with you using the 15 ton level was that you claimed 15 tons was his absolute max lift using every muscle of his body, when in fact he can do 15 ton benchpress reps (which is exactly what Class 15 means).

Spiderman has consistent shown greater than class 10 strenght. Its a pertent issue on some boards. However I belive the term you would use is "irevelent" to the subject at hand. KK asked the question how you can stand by the EU and condone the Force when it too has inconsistences like races that are immune to direct contact with it, and creatures that negate it over an area, or the very fact of precog and tk while every little small defect of comics and anime gets over anylazed by you and considered inconsistent enought to deam it undebatable. If that is your position on sci-fi you should close this board. Or at least stay away from SW debates in general and Force users in specific.
