Hulk question

Post by Evil Sadistic Bastard »

After Hulk escapes from the desert base and reminisces amidst the old houses, some big arty shell blows up a building near him and we see that he is cut, but the wound seals itself back up. Then he goes and takes on four tanks about 5-10 minutes after that. All four pelt him with .50 cal and 120mm shells, and he is completely unfazed? No bleeding, not even rapid regeneration? Then a pack of Comanches wail on him with 20mm chainguns and Hellfires and he gets through it virtually unscathed?

ALso, he gets dropped from 95'000 feet into the ocean and survives the fall? Don't tell me water cushions the impact - from that kind of height, if you fell into water you might as well be jumping into solid concrete. Water can't "give" that quickly.

So the question is... Just how tough is Mr. Banner's alter ego, anyway?

The angrier he is, the tougher he gets.

If you look carefully, then you can see that the bullets bounce off of him (you see little 'dents' when they hit).
The helicopters never hit him that well with the missiles. They either missed or he threw them off course by hitting them on the side with his arms before the missiles hit him.
Also the tanks didn't hit him with their main cannons. They either missed, or the one he blocked with the turret of another tank. He did have an indention on his right shoulder though.
That Artillery shot was the only one that really hit him quite well.

And remember: there is a top speed that you reach when dropping through the air.
So after a certain height, you won't get any faster.
Still would hurt quite a lot though :p

An example of Hulks powers from the comic: In one battle, the guy he was fighting burned off all of the Hulks skin. Within a few minutes, it regenerated. He's been gutted before by someone using an admantium blade. He regenerated, but his fingers got stuck (he was holding his guts in) and he partially reopened the wound when he yanked his fingers out.

Once, he had 800 lbs. of flesh burnt off of his body and it regenerated in a few seconds.

Actually, psudoscience is supposed to look real. Comic Book Physics never made any attempt at realism.
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!

Well, this is the guy that can phyisically hold energy, it even stated in the comic it was immpossible in the laws of phyisics.

So just how would one kill the Hulk, he seems impossible to kill, even in Bruce Banner form. Is there some way to kill the Green Giant?

The Hulk feared going into outer space when Gladiator was forcing him to do so.

Hulk also would have died from Glad's eye blasts if he didn't somehow overloaded them when he put his hand on Glads eyes (like how Superman overloaded Darkseids omega beams in the recent issue when Supes outclass him royally).

So he can die, it just takes a lot to do it.

..... can it turn the Hulk into a bunch of scattered atoms with no hope of merging back together into some unstoppable green monster?

Nope.. an ISD doesn't have that kind of firepower.. the most it can do is burn off the atmosphere or scorch the earth. It takes the Death Star to atomize planets. :D

Dr. Ross said something about the two of them absorbing the ambient energy from the area. I don't know, either.

David Banner was absorbing all the energy in the area, including heat, so that is why the lake froze over. The reason he turned into a giant bubble that he coudlnt control is because he absorbed so much energy from the hulk he could no longer control his shape, and begged "it won't stop....please take it back" he was about to burst maybe, turn into pure energy maybe.

David Banner is actually fused with The Absorbing Man in the film, isn't he?

It looked more like he became the Asorbing Man.

Somewhat yeah, probably the easiest explaination without going into comic jargon.
