I'm looking forward to it, but I'm wondering how long it's going to be. Goblet was over 600 pages, and each book has been significantly longer than the one before it.
Don't hate; appreciate!

RIP Eddie.

What we do know, is that for some reason Voldemort was un-willing to kill Lily, and that's what has got out panties in a bunch.
How do we know this? Voldemort has never shown an unwillingness to kill lily Potter. He was just more interested in Harry. Hell, he DID kill Lily Potter.

Given the fact he said "Out of the way woman" says that he had no particular reason to kill Lily Potter.

The reason Lily cannot be related to Tom Riddle is that that would mean that Petunia is related to Tom Riddle, and the Dursleys belong comfortably outside of the wizarding world and all its problems.

Someone pointed this out to me today...

I noew think Lupin will be Killed. Afterall, why else would Wormtail be given a silver hand?

Errr for the tragically brain dead (I walked into a closed-book exam today, thinking that it was going to be open book), why did you emphasize silver hand in that manner?

And I don't want to see Lupin to be killed, hang on... Silver is bad for warewolves right? Okay, brain catching up...

Really I was under the impression that it would be a Weasley. There are far too many of them to be useful. Or maybe Hagrid.

What about Lily being a Death Eater? Huh? Huh?

*Ducks the inevitable slap*

Rowling has done a good job of keeping us guessing.

I just can't believe the utter moron (or from a moral point of view, the honest man), who found a complete transcript/draft of the book AND HANDED IT BACK IN! Before posting spoilers!

I thought she planned that the kids would grow up with the books, so the original readers aren't so young anymore.

The woman is brilliant and a genius. No writer until her had been capable of puting children willingly reading 1000+ pages, no figures books. Adding to that, she managed to put the parents and the older brothers (my case) reading them too.

It was hardly aimed purely at kids, mind. Even then, this is a phenomonon that has taken most modern kids by storm, the idea of making the books longer and more intricate as the kids grow up is brilliant. That and adults already read the originals, the Waterstones on my campus is advertising the normal and adult printed cover.

Indeed. The HPverse is the Chronicles of Narnia of the Early 21st century.

She is an excellent writer. What she needs now is an excellent editor who is willing to put her popularity aside and edit the books so they are as they should be. I don't know about everybody else, but the superfluous shit at the beginning of the fourth book about put me to sleep.

-thinks that rolled eye is too sarcastic a response, in retrospect-

my point is, kids have been reading 1000 page books long before rowling came along.
