Review: Kubo and the Two Strings

Post by Jaepheth »

Long story short: Well worth seeing in theaters. Go see it.

Beautifully animated; every scene is masterfully done.
Story could be better; a bit basic and predictable, but I suppose it is meant to to be a children's movie. It's a fine example of the Hero's Journey though.

Pacing is very well done. Never felt too slow or overly rushed to me.

Looks awesome.

I also love the use of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Saw it today. Four kleenex-movie. I totally did not expect the ending.
