Kitchen sink superheros

Post by madd0ct0r »

Heros inspired by everyday objects.

IRONMAN
A steamppowered skinny guy with a wide eyed stare. Sort a surfer physique, which is fitting as he rides the sky on his steam jet powered ironing board. His primary weapon is a heavy hammer "for flattening life's little creases". The hammer can be plugged into his steamjet to add a scslding blast, reciprocating hammer action or merely generate cover in clouds of hot wet vapour

THE MAGICAL MR. M.

Is it technology or magic? You tell us as Mr M. stands impassive in hus white body armour and wire mesh cloak. He has been seen throwing heat rays from one hand when he gestures like pointing. He waves with the other and the opponent temporarily shrinks to a hundredth of their size. The bigger they are, the more they fear his micro-wave.

CAPN CLEAVER

Former rival and grudging friend of IRONMAN, Cleaver understands materials, crytsal patterns, shear planes and messy messy takedowns better than anyone. His power adds a cutting edge to anything for twice the time he holds it. Anything thrown will align itself to the weakest plane on the target, doing far more damage than it should. His Chopping Board is another sky surfer gear, but uses small helicopter drone blades spaced around the edge of the board to stay aloft.

The Broiler. A dirty man who is often overlooked and ignored by the world at large. He can fire intense flames out of his backside but is only capable of aiming at things beneath him.

Name: The Tumbler

Origin: When bitten by a radioactive tumbledryer, Dr Tim Umbler gained extraordinary abilities which he now uses to fight the forces of evil. Some of them anyway. The ones that can be defeated by annoying levels of heat and humidity.

Powers and abilities: Using the Tumble Ray residing in his chest, The Tumbler can send a wave of warm air up to 5 metres in front of him. If used correctly, it can maybe spoil the hair of whoever's standing directly in front of him. Make them quite uncomfortable on a hot day, perhaps.

Trivia: The Tumbler rarely engages in direct confrontation with his dastardly enemies, mainly choosing instead to use his powers to help heat the homeless and those with broken down boilers, especially in winter. When pushed however, he's a bitch of a shot with a catapult and is a brown belt in karate. He's also pretty good at science and shit.
Yeah, I've always taken the subtext of the Birther movement to be, "The rules don't count here! This is different! HE'S BLACK! BLACK, I SAY! ARE YOU ALL BLIND!?

You don't really need me to roll out the Mystery Men audition scene, do you? Spoiler

KID CHEN DRAW.

Kid Chenis a gadgeteer with a third eye that acts as a portal to the plane of imagination. Rather than build his tools directly, he draws them out as detailed engineering drawings, quickly sketching and labelling parts and functions with a ruler and pencil. When he feels the design is complete he closes his eye, opens his third eye and reaches into the drawing. When he reopens his eyes to the world the paper is blank and he is holding the device.

The devices he makes are typically one handed and perhaps over-specialised for the problem. A pistol is much more likely to appear as a dartgun, or a taser or an ice gun or a bolero pistol then a police issue handgun depending on exactly what you need to do right then. Still, with a decent helmet, homemade body armour and a drawing pad fixed to the back of a riot shield he has proven his worth time and again.

KNIGHT OF THE TABLE.

A robot or golem? Only Mr M. knows. The KNIGHT has not been seen to remove her armour or helmet in public, but is heavy enough to be careful of rooftops. When she stands with all four feet on the ground she seems to be unmovable when unwiling and capable of carrying unlimited weight. She seems to loose this ability when her feet are in the air but adopts a foot dragging gait whenever she feels uneasy.
