The Memoirs of Lady Trent (Recomendation)

Post by Zor »

One interesting book series i've found is The Memoirs of Lady Trent by Marie Brennan. Basically it's about the life of a female naturalist in a Victorianesque world who specializes in the study of Dragons. You should give it a shot.

*sigh* And a new Amazon order has been placed, after reading an excerpt of the first chapter.
I love dragons, I love Victorian-style writing, so of COURSE I have to have the whole series. I even pre-ordered the newest one "Within the Sanctuary of Wings"

The first picture there looks a LOT like a DnD dragon.

Apart from that, looks cool. Reminds me of those kids' books that were big a few years ago. 'Dracopedia' or whatever.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

That's one reason I want to get it, as I loved the artwork used for DnD dragons. It seems they got the same person to do the covers.

Just finished reading the 4th one this weekend. I am enjoying the series quite a bit. But you have to read them in order, or the earlier books will be spoiled by the later ones.

Have a very nice day.

That's correct. They're done by Todd Lockwood, who illustrated various bits of D&D particularly the 3rd edition dragons.

I also recommend the series.

THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS BOOK :luv: :luv: :luv:

As i am penny-wise, but very pound-foolish, I now have the whole collection, with the next book pre-ordered. I am in love with Lady Trent, and I will have to find more of Marie Brennan's work to see what other fantastic characters she's created.
