This sounds interesting, but is it wrong that I first read this as Marlon Wayans?

Marlon Wayans could probably write a pretty entertaining fantasy novel.

On the subject of James' use of the term "geek" here, I think that, in context, it sounds like he plans to geek out over Africa more than to geek out over mainstream fantasy. We're getting a fantasy story full of Africa porn, not Game of Thrones: The Black Folks Edition, from this guy.

Ghetto Edit: There's also a pretty good sub-Saharan fantasy setting write up over at the GURPS forum, which I would link to, advertising their products and services for free, right now, if I wasn't temp-banned for hurting some fucking pissant cry baby's feelings. Really fucking smart policy, Steve Jackson Games forum admins.

Just to reinforce your point, I'd probably have bought that. :D

Anyway, very excited for this - the more well-thought-out fantasy there is in the world, the happier I am.
