So Marvel does Crisis of infinite Earths

Post by mr friendly guy »

Really? Hope this is good.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_War ... omic_book)

"Secret Wars" is a 2015 comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics. It is not to be confused with the similarly-named 1984-1985 miniseries. Beginning in May 2015, the storyline will include a core Secret Wars mini-series, written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Esad Ribić, that will pick up from where the "Time Runs Out" storyline running in Avengers and New Avengers ends.[1] The storyline involves the Marvel Universe combining with other alternate universes, including the Ultimate Universe, as well as the 2099 Universe, with the merging resulting in Battleworld, a world which exhibits aspects of the various universes. This results in a new, single universe that will become the status quo for Marvel Comics going forth, becoming the first Marvel story to do so, similar to how DC Comics reformed the universe in storylines such as "Crisis on Infinite Earths". The core limited series will be eight issues long, and will likely run for five months.[2][3] One of the core miniseries is Ultimate End, which will end the Ultimate Marvel imprint after 15 years. Ultimate End is written by Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mark Bagley, the team that began the Ultimate Marvel universe with Ultimate Spider-Man.[4]

Running twice each month until August 2015, the series begins in May 2015 with an eight issue mini series (plus a Free Comic Day issue #0) and will come out of the current Avengers and New Avengers "Time Runs Out" storyline. The basic premise involves the collision of the Marvel 616 Universe with the Ultimate Marvel Universe which destroys both. But pieces of the two universes - with other universes - are mysteriously saved and combined with other post collision universes creating the "Battleworld".[citation needed]

Numerous tie-in miniseries and ongoing titles will flesh out the event with many of them revisiting previous Marvel events such as Civil War, Age of Apocalypse, Years of Future Past and Armor Wars. All of the tie-ins will be aligned into one of three subtitles during the event, Battleworld, Last Days and Warzones.

Marvel's executive editor Tom Brevoort has revealed that "Warzones" will focus on the individual domains, whereas "Battleworld" will be concerned with the infrastructure of the Battleworld as a whole.[5]

During the event "Battleworld" is all that remains of the Marvel Universe, and Marvel has stated all corners of the Marvel universe will be involved.[citation needed]

Plot[edit]
Prologue[edit]
Main article: Time Runs Out
For the last few months the New Avengers have been investigating incursion incidents in multiple universes. What has been causing this has gone unknown but it has been clear that the collision and destruction of universes does not seem to be stopping. Realizing that the Marvel 616 universe will one day experience their own event, the New Avengers have managed to force other universes to go through it first in the vain hope of buying enough time to stop what is coming. But time has run out.[citation needed]

2015 Battleworld[edit]
Following numerous incursions across the multiverse, the remains of various realities have been fused together to create a new Battleworld. All of these realities are known as domains and except for three have the ability to interact with each other. Only three (consisting of The Deadlands, Perfection, and New Xandar) are separated from the rest by the Wall simply for the fact that all three contain threats that if set loose, they would destroy the other domains.

The following is a list of all of the domains and the previous Marvel Comics event titles that are their basis or reimagining as revealed on Marvel Comics' Interactive Battleworld map. Secret Wars #2 will publish a complete guide to each domain. Two other regions Forest Hills and Holy Wood have been revealed but have not yet been assigned their place on the map, but are likely part of the Domain called The City:

Be nice to see the 1602 characters again. Also Miguel O'Hara.

Having the House of M coexist with Days of Future Past sounds hilarious.

But.... isn't any crossover with Marvel Zombies essentially Marvel Zombies? Wasn't a huge point of MZ 2 and 3 that any of the Marvel Zombies entering your universe is pretty much a doomsday scenario?

And oh crap, each of these will have a Wolverine for more writer-wanking. Bets on if we'll have a scene with 40 Wolverines in a room, either chilling or in a free-for-all?

That all depends on whether or not there are Super Zombies about, or the Galactus Horde.

And it helps that high-end Ultron bot are adjacent to them and acting as a 'buffer' between them and the other zones.

Two world-annihilating forces canceling each other out.

Now I'm just picturing the sheer magnitude of quarantine the rest of the Marvel universe is going to slam down around this colossal pig-screw of an omniEarth.

After all the shit some of Marvel's "heroes" have done such as Reed Richards and Tony Stark setting up the Gitmo in the negative zone, Namor committing mass genocide etc, I think its time for a reboot.

So... is Miles Morales going to survive this? I rather like the lad. Or can there be only one Spiderman per universe?

So according to my youtube browsing, in New Avengers...
Yellowjacket had witnessed as the Beyonders had annihilated the Celestials, Eternity, Infinity, Lord Chaos, Master Order, the In-Betweener and finally the Living Tribunal across all of the Multiverse.[7]
So they're setting up a big bad who killed the Living Tribunal and Eternity (yet life continues, because...yeah never mind).

Part of the reason this is being done, really, is to get Miles into the main marvel universe. After this event, there's going to be an Avengers team consisting of: An Iron Man, Vision, the New Thor lady, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Sam Alexander/Nova, and Miles Morales/Spider-Man.

Oh that's good. And as much as I like Ultimate Peter Parker over the mainstream one (at the very least he didn't make any deals with the devil that I'm aware of).... he really should have stayed dead. So if he doesn't appear in Secret Wars or dies again I won't be overly concerned. Though they'd better bring in Samuel L. Jackson Ultimate Nick Fury, damnit!
