Minor corrections: I'm pretty sure Cap 3 is Civil War, not Serpent Society?

Also: 'Ragnarok'. It's not a GWAR song or something. :P

Inhumans is a very interesting direction to go as I was pretty sure that was held down by Fox in connection with Fantastic Four. Those are the guys that they usually play with. They can certainly do MCU stuff, though, especially if they're bringing out Quicksilver as he can hook up with Crystal there.

Is Ant-Man not on the list? Or is it a separate film from the MCU?
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

Antman has previously been announced, they won't announce a sequel unless the release does well.

I'm sorry but the title made me think Cap will be facing off against Serpentor.

COBRA-LA-LA-LA-LA!!!!!!
I do know how to spell
AniThyng is merely the name I gave to what became my favourite Baldur's Gate II mage character :P

So the "Iron Man in Captain America 3" was a red herring? I wonder who started that rumour?

Of all of these, I think I'm most excited for Ragnarok.

Why would it be a red herring? If they're doing Civil War, Iron Man would be pretty crucial to the story.

Serpent Society was a fake out joke. Cap 3 is really Civil War.

Ah, the popular "YOU DON'T LIKE IT BECAUSE NO GRIMDARK" defence. No, I just don't think I ever got my money's worth from those movies except for Thor 1.

No Iron Man IV? :(

Well unless Tony is a big part of Cap3 in which case that may sort of count.

IM4 may not have advanced beyond the "initial discussions" phase.

Downey has also been fairly serious in recent interviews about not doing IM4... unless Mel Gibson directs :P so I'm fairly sure it's not going to happen anytime soon.

I don't really see much of Phase 2 as being super light. I guess they are in comparison to Man of Steel and the Nolan Batman movies but there's still been some bad stuff going on.

Yeah.

--Thor 2: Thor leaves the peace and quiet (relative) of Asgard for Earth, which means that Asgard is ripe for getting knocked off (especially as we see Loki has apparently usurped the throne). Meanwhile, his mother (stepmother?) got killed, his girlfriend almost got killed, Asgard got busted up real good...

--Iron Man 3: Stark decides to quit the superheroing business because it's too much shit to deal with and he's got issues to work out.

--Captain America 2: Turns out SHIELD was full of HYDRA agents and almost shot half the people in America with their super-helicarriers. Whoops?

--Guardians of the Galaxy: Okay, this was fairly light. To give it due credit, its sequel will probably be darker :P We do get a better look at Thanos, realize that he's got plans for galactic conquest, and meanwhile Ronan tears up the Nova world, which apparently were galaxy cops in some way. So there's going to be a bit less peace and quiet in the Cosmic universe.

I think that's all the Phase 2 films thus far apart from maybe Ant-Man and Avengers 2?

Speak of light comedy here is the everyone is drinking trying to pick up Thor's Hammer scene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGwuoYKhqx8

We've had this scene described to us before in pressers but seeing that slight quiver as Captain America tries to pick it up and the look of surprise on Thor's face is amazing.

He is the nearest to worthy of the bunch. :D

But alas, his shield gets busted. :(

Also they're fighting each other. Again. Because reasons.

But Thor lifted Tony up by the neck for some reason as well. Which would at least imply some slight disagreement between the two.

And I know zilch about Marvel Comics so I have no idea why Utron would make Hulk fight against his comrades. *shrug* I guess I'll find out in the movie.

Same reason Loki may have tried to manipulate Banner into a vulnerable state so he would Hulk out on the helicarrier in Avengers. He's a useful blunt instrument whose aggression can be directed. If he makes enough of a mess, he can discredit the Avengers in the public eye.

And for the record there is fucking GRIM DARK and then there is proper story telling where the middle of a story has conflict and loss and usually leaves the hero wondering if all is lost, can I defeat the evil, is my girlfriend/wife/lover dead, is Vader really my dad? Man that sucks about my hand.

Marvel is doing both on a large and small scale. The second and third movies are doing it as well as Phase III overall. Because of the crossover aspect of the universe it's just not as easy to track for each character.

What?! Conflict between protagonists? UNHEARD OF!

Uh because he is the Hulk. You have seen the movies, they are all terrified of him and for good reason. Why do you think it was Loki's plan in the first Avengers movie?

You don't have to know about Marvel comics to pay attention.
