Forever Evil (DC comics) [spoilers]

Post by mr friendly guy »

So now that the series Forever Evil has finished its time to take stock of what happened.

1. The Crime Syndicate's mysterious prisoner is their version of Luthor. Who just happens to have the power of their equivalent of Captain Marvel, or should be Shazam these days. Not only that, he can also steal powers from super beings he has killed. Killed by our version of Luthor rather cleverly I might add.

2. Lex Luthor turns out to be a good guy, and seems to want to be a good guy even if its purely for his ego.

3. A few deaths including Bizarro and some of the Crime syndicate. Especially loved how Luthor stepped on Atomica.

4. The big baddie the crime syndicate feared turns out to be....NOT DARKSEID, but the Anti-monitor. Obviously Crisis of Infinite Earths didn't occur in the new 52.

5. Only a few of the Crime syndicate survived - eg Ultraman, Superwoman and Owlman.

So I guess we can expect the Anti-monitor to rear his head next year as it seems Superman is currently busy with Doomsday.

Every few years or so when the writer wants to give Superman a few lumps.

It's finally finished now is it? Hmm. About time. This started, what, like a year ago?
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

1. Forever Evil lasted 7 issues, so its most probably gone for 7 months, although you would most probably have seen it advertised earlier. This is why it most probably seems like a year since it started.

2. Yeah Doomsday is back in a story arc titled Superman Doomed. Elheru Aran is right though. He always comes back every few years in some storyline. This one better be good.

It better be because the last time (AFAIK) Doomsday got thoroughly trounced by Supes as Doomsday's weakness was fear. In that once he learned to fear, Doomsday became weaker, allowing Superman to have an easier time defeating him.

Well ....
Spoiler
Despite having new powers like some energy field surrounding Doomsday which kills a lot of living things, Supes still wins. But that's just the beginning..... (smiles cryptically).
