So we're 3 issues into the year-long Batman weekly series and so far, I'm getting hopeful.
Like 52 almost a decade ago, we've got the current crop of good writers (albeit from the Bat side of things). Pacing's good and while it confirms once and for all that Long Halloween is no longer canon... Spoiler
...I'm digging the Return of the King - i.e. Carmine 'The Roman' Falcone. It's a Falcone who's now more adept at dealing with the 'freaks'.
In 3 issues, he's managed to taken down Gordon, seize control of the GCPD through his ally Forbes, and is forcing the GCPD to focus not on the gang war he's orchestrated, but on taking down the Bat once and for all.
