DUN-DUN-DUNNNNNNNNNN!
I am somewhat giddy to find out what's behind that gate if Mr. Wannabe-Stormking is afraid of it after only a brief explanation...

A minute's thought suggests that the very idea of this is stupid. A more detailed examination raises the possibility that it might be an answer to the question "how could the Germans win the war after the US gets involved?" - Captain Seafort, in a thread proposing a 1942 'D-Day' in Quiberon Bay

Re: The 2nd Girl Genius Thread
I think it's less that he's scared of what's behind the gate, and more that he's scared about the gate's automated defenses frying Agatha (whom he still needs, after all). What's behind the gate may be tremendously nasty, but that doesn't matter if Agatha and co. don't survive because they don't know enough to know their trapped up against a (supposedly) impassable barrier and try crossing it.

Of*course* it's Wulfenbach's Restricted Zone. Wonder how they're programmed regarding Agatha Heterodyne?

Re: The 2nd Girl Genius Thread
Damn it. This gag is getting old. Why is everyone so crazed?
Based on earlier conversations I'm betting that the Other is known to be roaming loose again and so everyone is
a) holed up in their own fiefdom out of fear
b) desperately hoping to restore wider control themselves by using Agatha as leverage
OR
c) aware that Agatha has a connection to the Other and therefore trying to capture their "enemy"
Regardless of which combination of these is true, it would be great to get on with the story instead of 10 strips of the same bait and switch gag.

So the Other has taken over Mechanicsburg?

Re: The 2nd Girl Genius Thread
What a cop out. So time hasn't moved in Mechanicsburg the whole time Agatha was gone.
I was hoping that everything went to pot while she was gone and Agatha has to find a way to go back 2 1/2 years to prevent the disaster from happening.

Re: The 2nd Girl Genius Thread
Apparently not. Mechanicsburg is reportedly locked in some kind of time bubble.Enigma wrote:So the Other has taken over Mechanicsburg?
Gil isn't in the bubble, so he's running the Empire, and he's a bit crazy. He's presumably wasped, so the Other is pulling the Empire's strings.

Re: The 2nd Girl Genius Thread
Misread Friday's comic. I thought it said the Other but really Dimo(sp?) said the other ones as in other Jaeger generals. That and it is the Baron and not Gil that is in Mechanicsburg.

Its about time we get to see Punch again. I expect Judy will be next. Agatha has needed her family.

I am wondering about the babies in the Nursery, and if one of them has green hair.

Why am I always worried when I see a character in comic wearing something over their mouth...?

So, Gil's closed himself off in Mechanisburg's valley, and locked down the town with gorgeous statues of Agatha.

Um...I got the impression Gil was possibly in another Airship, miles away and was making post haste back to the valley?
Also...wouldn't the walls and statues and guard clanks be more there to stop people looting the parts of the place that weren't under the effects of the Baron's "Time bomb"?
