Pixar's Brave Trailer

Post by Zor »

A bit different from the usual Pixar fair, but so far it looks rather impressive.

Ohhhkaay.....

Not sure what to make of that, other then every single thing about it seems NON PIXAR.
Doesn't seem to have the "feel" its dark, moody, the style is totally different then any in the past. Is this a bad thing?
Only time will tell.

I thought Monsters Inc. 2 was their slated film for 2012, not Brave.

Looks different, but in a good way.

Comedy has always been, IMHO, the least memorable and engaging ingredient in Pixar films. It's certainly present, but only enough to lend an air of whimsy and certainly not what defines them... what jokes are as important as:

-The desolate first 15 minutes of Wall-E
-The life of Ellie and Carl montage, Carl learning
-Toy Story 1, 2, and 3: Disillusion and discovery of new purpose, abandonment and hope, the end of childhood, and power of enduring friendship...
-Cars 2: um... Counter-intellectual American Exceptionalism? This is a good opportunity to rest my case.

A pointed dramatic turn is a good move.

Love. that. hair.

It's the one '12 movie I really want to watch. A combination of the things I love the most: a female lead, a strong female lead, Scotland, Scottish actors and gingers.
