Gokusen be sucessfully adapted to american TV. I figure that the premise of a Gangster Princess who wants to be a school teacher for disadvantaged students and has to deal with her unwanted "family problems" would work with american audiances. (hey I posted it here because the series actually has some fantastic elements in it.

No. Need I post the "American Akira" video by Happy Harry?
They would probably make her of Italian descent, or worst, gangsta, and try to make it an feel-good series about how a teacher, if she really cares, can inspire children.
