No, I fear I've not read that one.. I'll have to do so.
But what of Fanny Hill and Black Arrow?
Fanny Hill is one of the famous "black-listed books" (it was deemed pornographic at the time, it's pretty tame by today's standards.)

In the series the Planetary was something which could have been seen as a 1940s version of the League (Including Lord Greystoke, the Shadow and others)
