There is nothing in the entire world worse than an alignment debate.

Nale isn't in the inbox because Burlew doesn't want to read anymore speculation about Nale still having a part in the story from his annoying forum. The aggravation wouldn't be worth the gag.

Evoker specialist against army? No contest!

Only thing that could ruin the day again would Tarquin and friends personally intervening.

I suspect Tarquin is going to demonstrate that pragmatic "discretion is the better part of valor" attitude that lets a villain get to be an old villain.

Mind, Xykon and Redcloak are still ahead of them in the race to Kraagor's Gate, so with the party assembled it's probably time for the Order to split and rush to the Final Confrontation.

Where they'll find O-Chul and Lien, lest we forget.

Roy has a good point all the 'run into rift' crowd ignored - Xykon kills them? Tough luck, not (necessarily) end of the world. Snarl? Game over man, game over. Though, what he expects V to do against not one, but two higher level casters should Tarquin say 'nope' is beyond me.

I still hope we get to see Xykon find out about Tarquin calling him a sub boss.

921 up!
Spoiler
So, facewrap guy is a caster. And the other party members appear quite independent of Tarquin.
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

Sure. They're "reasonable" people, and Tarquin isn't being reasonable. No profit in playing along.

Just like Malack, they defer to him by default but they're not servile. And Myron apparently isn't a fan of Tarquin's dramatics.

Also damn V is on a roll.

If nothing else, I think this battle is exactly what Tarquin says it is. The Order of the Stick has been losing rather handily in all their objectives lately and been the crap kicked out of them, it's nice to see them re-earn some credibility by facing off against an army, and show that they should be able to stand up against an army, or the evil forces of Xykon.

The first order of the Stick-comic was posted 10 years ago today. Rich mentioned it in his latest Kickstarter-update.

Not many series live that long.

The only other Web-Comic I can htink of that has lasted that long is "Sluggy Freelance" and I think "Zebra Girl"
So yeah, it is a hell of a mile stone.

Penny Arcade launched in 1998 and hasn't (so far as I know) missed a comic, thrice a week, since it launched. Questionable Content launched in 2003. 10 years is pretty awesome, though.

Schlock Mercenary, Something Positive, Girl Genius are some others I can think of, its still a rarity though.

How about Irregular! Started 2002, didn't missed single update

Incidentally, they co-host hilarious Star Wars webcomic, too.

Darths and Droids is more fun for me than the main comic. :D

Schlock Mercenary is special in that not only has the artist not missed an update, he's never even had to bring in someone else to do a week's strips for him like a lot of strips do. Howard Taylor is very good about keeping up his buffer of comics so he can skip writing for two weeks and still be able to make daily updates. I respect that.

Also, irony:
An act of Belkar that impeded the saving of Roy when he was fighting Thog (releasing the Allosaur earlier prevented him from doing so later) now ends up saving Roy (because he interacted with the Allosaur and fed him back then, he succeeded on the Wild Empathy check now).

All in all, a great moment. Guess Belkar can die now.

That was pretty awesome. If Belkar goes down in a blaze of glory, that would be fine by me.

It isn't how Belkar would have wanted to die, but it's close, so yeah. UNLEASH THE FURY!

That said, the tyrannosaurus's appearance was certainly unexpected enough to satisfy Tarquin's desire that it be held in reserve as a surprise.
