Rupert Thorne would make a good villain, also trivial to Nolan-ify since there's no magic powers or whatever. A corrupt politician/kingpin (perhaps with a connection to Dent like in the Animated Series) who could perhaps lead the charge against Batman publically and also hire-in hitmen to make things more difficult. He could also be publically dismantled by Batman to restore hope to the city.

Thorne would be a nice touch, espcially if they adapt his stint as a corrupt Gotham City Councilman.

Betting the public is pretty aware of The Penguin and The Riddler if not from the Burton/Schumacher movies, then from the TV show.
Really, for Batman, you only need the bare necessities of the villain as their stories have changed so many times over the years that it doesn't even matter anymore.

I'm still hoping for the Riddler, just in a different fashion than we have scene. Just a very cerebral guy that mentally fucks with Bats and gets the 'Riddler' moniker from the press and not as a self anointed title like Schumacher did with his version. As long as the whole 'trying to one up Bruce Wayne' angle is steered clear of. Not just because it has been used already in the previous franchise, and in the comics, but because that was the angle Iron Man 2 used with Justin Hammer, which sucked by the way.

Interestingly the top candidate is Hugo Strange, and the storyline of Prey. Why? Beause it is easy to fit it and Catwoman.

The story basics are the police are after Batman, Strange helps them but along the way goes whacky crazy over this obsession and Catwoman helps Bats to break Strange down.

At this point still pure speculation.

Lame. Strange is just rehash of Crane from the first movie.

Honestly, I would have liked to seen the love triangle as strange as it sounds. Talia and Kyle.

It is a perfect opportunity in the Nolan-verse to make it work.

You have Batman, who still has to be Batman, yet is being hunted mercilessly by pretty much everyone. As a consequence, anyone in a costume is facing the same pressure. Enter the cat burglar that dresses like a cat that helps Bats escape once or twice, which intrigues him a bit. You also have whatever alter ego Talia would use as the new leader of the League of Shadows.

On the Wayne side, where Bruce finds solace and safety, you have the interesting socialites Talia and Selena, both of whom help him deal with the loss of Rachel Dawes.

Of course, being the world's greatest detective, he eventually figures it out and has to deal with the issues of duality that he has put everyone else through in his own life.

Oh well.

Heck, yours could be the storyline as well.

As I said, it's speculation based on how Dark Knight ended mixed in what is out there. Honestly? All we know is that he is hunting for an actress for a likely foil for Batman, and even that part is speculation.

Wait, so all the crap about Hugo Strange just turned out to be the plot of Arkham City? This is why they shouldn't make articles about rumors.
