Capital ship seen in the movies

Post by AL »

I was thinking of all the capital ships we have seen in the movies thus far.

Executor class command ship
ISD
ISDII
Mon cal Cruisers, Liberty class or winged class, the wingless class and Home one class
Esc Frigates
Corellian Corvettes
Medium Transports
Y-head corvette
Trade Fed Battleships
Techno union ships
Acclamator class
The Naboo ships

any other capital ships that I'm missing?

And, does anyone else think these are common throughout the galaxy, I mean the basic models used by individual systems and governments or are there more. I really don't want to get into the EU ships here only ships from the movies.

I dont think the Naboo Cruisers were cap ships.

The Naboo ships don’t even have weapons, and even the second one can only haul around four Star Fighters. I wouldn't call them capital ships, more like a Luxury cruiser or diplomatic brig. Same for the Republican ship in Ep 1, it gets called a cruiser, but it's not a capital warship, as it has no armament or fighter capacity.

Regarding that Star Destroyer that the Millenium Falcon flies under, inverted- the one with no hangars-

how come no one has asked the guys who made the model what it is ?

I mean, there must be a model of it somewhere- right? If not a complete model, plans?

There are a couple of unidentified capital ships in the scene of the rebel fleet going to hyperspace at Sullest, in RotJ.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

There is also an unidentified ISD seen in RotJ. It's the one without hangars, that appears to be a completely fleet designed ship, that is designed to have more toe-to-toe firepower and shielding and armor than an ISD.

That's what I thought it was, at first, but Saxton disagreed based on size discrepencies. It appears to be something else, that is either a precursor to the Allegiance or some other ship designed for the same purpose.
