I don't know if anyone has done this idea before, but what job would you have in Star Wars?

I ask that you don't say I would be a Jedi or Sith or, a Galactic Ruler.

Me I would be a communications officer on a Civillian ship. All the monotomy of a warship non of the shooting.

Is there a place for mathematical or physical research still in the Star Wars universe?
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Droid designer. Battledroid/droid fighter/world devestator designer if I got lucky, cleaning droid designer if I didn't. Maybe I'd get stuck in the lower ranks of Cybot Galactic apparently working on minor upgrades to protocol droid software, while in truth secretly plotting to take over the galaxy with my unstoppable army of hidden-blaster-armed mouse droids.

Prospector/Explorer. Exploring the outer rim for mineral deposits or contacting primitive societies for admittance to Empire/Republic.

It might be dangerous but it sure would be exciting.

Otherwise a freelance freighter captain would be good, or even just being employed by one of the mega corporations to transport freight would still be good, probably safer as well.

Librarian/Archivist. The Jedi Temple could use some serious cross-referencing. And they have a whole planet of libraries. Damn, that would be sweet.

The idea behind this thread was for a realistic job you would have. Not one that is an important figure that can inspire myth, just an everyday ham and egger.

Probably math/physics academia.

If not, I'll go work on designing starship propulsion and weaponry.

I was a soldier in real life, I'll be a soldier in Star Wars life too. They must have some pretty amazing radio equipment in their armies.

You are a signaler?

I would imagine they use holographic projection equipment, subspace transmitters and what not.

I'd be working at the Weapons Proving Ground. I'm surprised no one's chosen that job.

Between the good old DS and the Galaxy Gun, I'd expect most proving grounds to run across systems.

Well, those weapons aren't your run-of-the-mill conventional weapons. I imagine proving grounds would be near asteroid fields for ship weapons.

I was, I'm medically retired now.
I would imagine they use holographic projection equipment, subspace transmitters and what not.
Hence my interest.

Some are also near Imperial Academies, like the one near Carida that the Otana exited hyperspace right in as well. Good 'real-life' practice for recruits

Weapons designer and gunsmith for Blastech.

That, or ship designer for Kuat Drive Yards.
Best care anywhere.

I'd either be a biologist or an historian. Probably a biologist. Wars has some pretty awesome creatures.

Not Jedi, not Sith, but Force Adept with a nearly unhealthy penchant for lightning. Perhaps with a knack for engineering, since it's just that useful in Star Wars.

I'll take a position in biology in academia on studying various subjects (assuming they have not been solved already) such as heritability and the Force and genetic variance among galaxy spanning sapient species.
