Web application programming and my frustration

Post by SolarpunkFan » 2017-11-25 10:57pm

So I'm currently learning web development. Right now I'm just learning client-side JavaScript (I have HTML and CSS down pat), but eventually I want to make a personal site with a blog section. So I've been looking at web frameworks, but they they all seem to require dicking around with the front end too.

All I really need is something I can hook up to my existing client-side HTML5 but otherwise focused entirely on back end processes. One person suggested Node.js but I've heard that security can be dicey on it. Are there any other alternatives or should I just use Node?
