Crossout = Madmax+WoT!

SO! Considering the amount of people into World of Tanks... I am curious how many people may be following this game.
It is basically a "build your own MadMax War Rig" game.

PC can't run it, but i've given it a few hours play on the xbox. i tend to spend more time in the builder than in battle.
If a black-hawk flies over a light show and is not harmed, does that make it immune to lasers?

I've tried and ultimately it doesn't feel all that fun. In a game like WoT you're dealing with tanks, and the early tiers go fast enough that you feel like you have different options. A couple hours into this game I have two chassis, and my weapons honestly don't feel very satisfying. I'd like to say that the weapons feel impactful, but cannons aside they feel like peashooters, and the cannons themselves are awful.

They need to start you off with some killer rather than the filler they're offering right now.

it's very grindy, and there doesn't seem much reward for doing well, just a random single part for a victory and next to nothing for a defeat

The higher end parts seem like they're cool, but I just can't see myself playing long enough to get there. These kinds of games need a stronger hook now that the genre is established, and this game doesn't have it.

I've been playing it a bit, and I'll echo that the early parts are quite underwhelming. Especially when there is no clear path to getting more structural parts (fenders are in high demand on my designs).

My biggest gripes are that you are penalized if you leave a battle in progress even if you died, and that if all of your weapons get destroyed there is absolutely nothing you can do. At least the matches are short so you don't suffer that long.

Yeah, they seem to want you to chain long strings of games together one after another in the same lobby. The games are also too fast honestly, there's no time for tension, and vehicles very quickly under any kind of sustained fire.

Honestly, for all that I've grown apart from it after all the changes, Robocraft is a better crafting and vehicle combat game.

Next to nothing, or literally nothing? Because being gated behind wins is so atrociously bad on it's own, I'd pass just on that note.

Either way, this has just reminded me that I want a new Interstate '76 game. Holy shit, it's on GoG. Later haters.

I like the daily point boost mechanic they have, but the base rewards are just so low in comparison that after you've hit your daily boost cap, you're just stuck grinding for parts via RNG.

And yeah, the fact that you get basically nothing on a defeat is just bad. You don't even get fuel if your fuel tank survived on a defeat. You just get a pittance of scrap and points.

The missions are very grindy as well, and some are just contrary to the game modes they are in. There's a few mission types where you need to destroy NPC raiders with cannons, but the objective of most raid missions doesn't actually require killing the raiders. There's also a type where you do the same with shotguns, but shotguns get infinite ammo, and in a raid cannons take a minute and a half to reload.

The convoy raids are also awful game design. Who wants to repeatedly run escort missions?

I haven't even touched those for that very reason.

Cargo retrieval and siege aren't that bad, though they do get stale.

Huh, unfortunately for me, I have WATCHED many people played it./.. But not been able to play it myself.
It LOOKS fun, but from the above feed back, it seems the "grind" aspect of it does much to detract from the game itself.
I hope this may change as I would VERY much like to play the game at some point

SO after about two months of playing the game, I can report that everything BAD said about it...
Is 110% True..

After spending about two months playing the game, I have grinder my way through 20 levels, and in that time have seen any sense of "fairness" in the game play utterly dissolve. People bicker that the game isn;'t "Pay2Win" but I';ll break some math down for you.

There are White(normal)-Blue(rare) and Purple(Epic) parts...

A standard Purple sells for about "400 coins"
If you want to make it, the Materials cost around "300 coins"
How much time does it take to grind the materials on your own?

Well, I finished my first Purple yesterday.... and have played for around 120 hours.

Oh... And how much are "Coins?"
$25 will buy you about 800 coins...

So... Seeing as I get paid 20$ an hour...
You could say 2 hours worth of "Work"
Or about 100 hours worth of game time.
THAT is how bad the grind is.
