Suggestions for VPN software

Post by Borgholio »

I want to be able to VPN from my laptop to my home computer. The Windows built-in VPN works fine except when it's blocked (which is often the case in certain public wifis). Anybody know of a good software product I can install on my home computer that can turn it into a functional VPN server that I can access from anywhere? Thanks!

OpenVPN is great from the client side, but setting up security certificates on the server side is a PITA. At least it was for me. I need an easy way to set up a VPN from the server side, since that's where I seem to be having most of the problems.

It sounds like you just want a remote desktop? If so then I have used http://www.teamviewer.com without issue and it is free for non commercial use.

Others I know have also used Logmein, and again, no problems with it at all:
