The Humble Store launched earlier today with new deals every day. As much as I love GOG, I'm totally stoked to now have a vendor that sells individual games DRM free that can also be redeemed on Steam, or I would be if I weren't so strapped for cash right now. I only hope they don't start cutting back on Humble Bundles because of it. The current deals only last for another 8 hours but for those able to leap on them there are some pretty sweet offers.

I can personally recommend:

-The Swapper, one of my favorite games of the year, for $4.99, the cheapest I've ever seen it
-Chivalry: Medieval Warfare for $6.25

And despite my financial situation, I am greatly tempted by:

-Rogue Legacy for $7.49
-Gunpoint for $4.99

If anyone's looking to get AssCreed 4 for PC, GreenManGaming has a voucher code for 25% off:

TAREM-AC4BF-VOUCH

Thanks to this, I got the gold edition that includes the season pass and a bunch of other shit for what I would've paid for the standard edition elsewhere.

GOG has a great bargain sale right now, up to 75% off for games. Limited quantity, first come first serve. Really well done by CD Projekt.

Steam obviously has a big holiday sale going on until Tuesday, with the usual daily deals and 8-hour flash sales. Current highlights include X-Com: Enemy Unknown for a tenner, Dark Souls for $6, Rogue Legacy for $5, and Skyrim for $7.50

Origin also has sales going on, though the only one I found enticing was Bad Company 2 for a dollar.

It's totally worth it.

Game Dev Story is Amazon's Free App of the Day, the first good one in a long time. Usually it's Generic Hidden Object Game #382654892.

Interesting, but it demands installation of separate App store. Is it worth the hassle or can be activated in normal one instead?

No hassle to be had, really. Install the Amazon Appstore app, either log in if you already have an Amazon account or create a new one if you don't, and the game's right there at the top of the main page. A couple of taps and it's yours, forever associated with your Amazon account. No automatic updates, unfortunately, but on the plus side that's because the Appstore app isn't running in the background all the time.

Just visit this page on your Android device to get started. You've got about five hours until the Free App of the Day changes, though, so be quick.

Ditto, but I'm limited to a) English and b) iOS. Wish they'd translate the pyramid one they did; I'm just about through the horse-raising one.

Gianna Sisters: Twisted Dreams is one of the current flash sales on Steam, so it's only $1.79 for the next four hours or so. For an extra $0.90, you can bundle the standalone expansion Rise of the Owlverlord with it, too. It's a gorgeous and fun little platformer, well worth even the normal price.

Some really awesome stuff in the holiday sales. I've been loving Dust: An Elysian Tail

You'd probably love Guacamelee too, then, as it's also a melee-only Metroidvania. You can still get it for its Steam flash sale price ($3.75, same as Dust) from the Humble Store.

Also, if you have Xbox Live Gold, Sleeping Dogs is the free Games with Gold title from today through the 15th, with discounts on the DLC as well. From the 16th to the end of the month, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be the free Games with Gold title.

GOG has a pretty sweet sale going on in the the current 24 hours, one game from each year up to 1983-2013 up to 90% off. I already got the Police Quest bundle and SimCity 2k for $1.50 each.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is free in the Nintendo eShop for 3DS/DSi through Sunday. Local wireless multiplayer has been added to replace the GBA link cable, and there are some new levels and gameplay modes.

Possibly the best Humble Bundle so far is available for the next 10 days and includes:

Guacamelee!
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Giana Sisters
The Swapper

And for beating the average you get

Antichamber
Monaco: What's Yours is Mine

I haven't had the opportunity to try Monaco yet, and I'm rather disappointed with the horrible stuttering performance of Giana Sisters, but the other four games are about as good as indie games come. Guacamelee! and the Swapper in particular were two of the best games of last year if you ask me.

Amazon is celebrating their app store's birthday with a bunch of free apps today and tomorrow. Highlights include:

Swype Keyboard (normally $3.99)
Monopoly (normally $4.99)
Worms 2: Armageddon (normally $0.99)
Ski Safari: Adventure Time (normally $0.99)
Sketchbook Pro (normally $4.99)

The rest are kind of hit or miss, and a couple were obviously chosen more for their high price than anything else. For example, a sidescrolling platformer/endless runner called Battle Maiden Yuko Runner that's pretty terrible, but for some reason is normally $10.
