So, is there room for one more? I have an OOB already written up.

Oh, BTW, hello everyone. College rocks, it's been taking up all my time lately.

About the map, give the UTR lots of unihabited systems in it's territory. I plan on making constant terraforming of war damaged worlds a constant part of the UTRs econmy and we should try to keep it consistent. The UTR should have a fairly large amount of uninhabitated territory to patrol.

I've barely started to write up my OOB!

The TSC is located to the galactic south of the UTR's territory, on the edge of the wartorn sections (The TSC is composed of 3 post-greatwar
Human colonial fiefdoms which unified.)

Here's the map as it is so far. It's in desperate need of polishing.

STGOD MAP

(Sorry about reducing it to a link, but that map was making my computer crazy. ~ Stormbringer)

I'm sorry buy I can't find the Sloth Imperium on there, where is it?

I don't quite remember the old SD.net STGOD map, but i think the KSE should be somwhere in between earth and Former Asgard space (Stormbringer's old power, it's territory should be near or in his current boarders)

I'm assuming Xenos just have a smattering of planets here and there, with no clearly defined territory...yet....

Just so you know, there will be no claiming of arbitrary advantages in this game. They caused too many problems and don't add much to the story.

And I will repeat this to you, ship strength is figured in inverse proportion to the numbers feilded.

I haven't finished with the map yet, and I won't until later today or tomorrow because I have a couple tests to worry about today.

It'd be nice if we could delay this until Saturday to account for stuff, but oh well..

STGOD MAP
It also needs the HAB. Throw it in the currently empty exBoyd space near the "top" of the galaxy please.

It's also missing the PRC... If I follow true to where the TE was, I should be in the SW. However, that would mean I should have been swallowed up by Halite during her invasion. So... Ex boyd space it is, perferrably near the edge.

The map's missing the Nyfitsar. Does anyone have any objections to me being a little counterclockwise to the Azegart?

I do, actually. My nation is some what isolated after all.

Considering the shared history I thought it would make more sense to be close by. I'll just assume you moved your homeworld a lot farther than I thought you did.

Crayz, put me at some random location, preferably not right next to the UTR.

Well, Valeth is far removed from the majority of the old Asgard territory. It was a small frontier outpost which is why it survived but the rest of the Empire didn't.

With that explanation we could be 2000 light years away from each other, or 1/50th of the width of the galaxy. If you really want to be remote you can just say the old playing field was bigger than that.

I think that's the general idea since it was certainly bigger than the stated dimensions.

The game will be starting tonight though I'll keep open the other STGOD threads for now.

How about 60 degrees counterclockwise, same radius from galactic center? That'll leave me tied with the Aquarians and Kzin for second closest neighbor. Your closest neighbor is on the opposite side of your space from me, which fits just fine. And it's almost exactly on the opposite side of the galaxy from the UTR, so it would take a long time to reach them even with the upgraded (for sanity's sake) warp speed.

My own closest neighbors in that position would be (in order) SKS, you, and the Kzin.

That puts fake Earth somewhere in former Boyd space. Historically that'd place the first sd stgod after their annihilation, when they got out of the way and everyone else was too busy to look in their direction.

Thirdfain, you realize that with all this recently annexed territory you'll be expected to treat it as such?

Posted: 2003-11-09 05:19pm
by Thirdfain
Of course! I have nearly a third of my fleet over there, not to mention about 9 million front-line shock troops.

The territory is largely worthless, anyway- burned, dead worlds, and a few pirate fiefdoms. It won't be used as an excuse to field massive fleets anytime soon (the resources I got from my new territory allow me to ramp up naval production significantly.... nope.)

I figure that with 4 industrialised systems to control, and about 30 uninhabited systems to patrol, say 100 frigates, 5 heavy cruisers, and say 10 DDs should be sufficent, no? plus an escort carrier, and maybe 10 million garrison troops per conquered system?

That's okay, so long as that fleet is genuinely treated as tied up and any resources extracted kept commenserate with the effort put into the annexation. And I don't mind if they do become major production center later on, so long as the efforts there.

I'm just trying avoid the same sort of power gaming (by almost all the parcipants) that ruined the first STGOD here.

Seriously, Alyrium- I built up to this over the last 5 pages of dialogue, and have allocated a significant portion of my fleet and army to the business of conquering territory.

Powergaming is not a good thing.
