Really though, I don't think they should be allowed in there until Iraq has it's own laws and government again so it can decide whether it wants that or not. I'm annoyed that our government would consider letting them go after claiming that this wasn't a religious affair.

This isn't going to be a big deal. Tariq Aziz was a Christian (the bleeding Vice President under Saddam), for instance, and there is actually a rather significant Christian minority in Iraq. It's probably one of the safest and most welcoming places in the Mid-East for Christians short of Lebanon (pre-PLO invasion). The Muslims will listen to the Baptists rant, safe in the fact that they're the secure spiritual majority in the country - In the same way you'd ignore someone ranting on a street corner with Chick pamplets.

The countries where this would be a problem are the ones with Wahhabi elements, and Iraq doesn't have any.

They're going to convert a few thousand people over the next decade at best, there will be a small protestant minority in the capital that could vanish into a drop of water, and nobody will care.

Also, ignore CAIR. Ignore CAIR. Ignore CAIR. I cannot emphasize this enough. CAIR is a Wahhabi-funded Islamist terror front organization. They do not speak for the Muslim world, but rather for about a two percent minority of it.

At least now we know why the Southern Baptist Convention was the only Christian organization backing the war...

...bastards think they've found a way to boost their membership again.

Nice Guy: Here's an article on Jerry Falwell, one of the more influential people in the Southern Baptist Convention.

One problem with them is they're the types to harass the servicemen's families, friends and everything else close to them. Especially if they're denied passports.

If Chick, Falwell, Robertson, and Phelps get KIA during this invasion, then who is there to complain?

If a fundie falls in the desert and nobody hears, does he make a noise?

Missionaries come knocking on my door, and they get ignored or flamed. In Iraq, I'm betting they're going to be met with semi-automatic RPGs and various other high explosives.

The fewer fundies that come back, the better.

I think we should print decks of cards with the pictures of the most wanted. like the U.S. did with Saddam and his close collaborators, but with the faces of the fundies on it.
