Jesus Christ.

You know, from this side of the atlantic it is quite illuminating how high the sheer level of hate for anything democrat and black seems to be.

I never saw such viciousness in European cartoons.

I believe this is a phenomenom that has gotten alot worse since the 90s, I don't think there used to be such a divide between the groups or such hatred.

I still think is funny that whole Illegals pay no taxes bit. Can't these idiots figure out that it's impossible for a business to avoid paying payroll tax. So Illegals pay PLENTY of income tax, they just don't collect it. (known by one person whose SSN was co-opted by several Illegals for work purposes, and who wondered why I was listed as having multipal sources of income in multipal different citties one year)

Damn wish the IRS had let me collect on that.

Are you shitting me? This is considerably tamer compared to political cartoons and campaigning in early American history, particularly the antebellum period, where campaign fliers would regularly accuse the opponent of moral outrages and outright crimes; common favorites included fraud, theft, corruption, fathering children out of wedlock (with a black woman if they wanted to get particularly nasty), favoring abolition (in the slave states), opposing abolition (in the free states), and sabotage of rivals' business ventures and livelihoods. Sure, this is nasty, but we've had far worse.

At least no one is beating anyone on the floor of Congress or starting duels.

I've seen some pretty nasty stuff from Iranian and Likudnik propaganda mills, but those usually just revomited the usual Anti Semitic or Islamaphobic conspiracy pap.
Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.

mind you I owe my existance to a late term miscarriage "Spontaneous/Partial Birth" abortion of my potential big sister, from food poisoning/anafalactic shock. (my mom nearly died from the wrong kind of food stock being in the vegitable soup base), resulting in the tissues all over her body swelling. I just happen to be concieved a month or two later.

Even though their argument is essentially the same, they never notice how dumb their arguments can be. It's all about sounding nice I suppose. Oh well.

Also, this is bad theology. Since zygotes used in stem cell research would be unbaptised, they should be in hell, rather than heaven.

When does that "ownership society" cartoon date from? One would hope that even a quasi-retarded conservative would be loath to talk about their old plans for social security privatization right now, given that if it had gone through we'd have millions of elderly people rendered destitute by the crash. Of course at the same time I wonder why Republicans even bother engaging African Americans rhetorically, because it's just not going to work. Even if the claim that GOP policies were better for blacks was true (it isn't) they still wouldn't vote for them, because they can fucking well see that Republicans hate them anyway.

Most poltical cartoonists will tell you its thier "job" to piss people off... Case in point, Steve Benson of the Arizona Republic boasted that he knew he was doing his job correctly if his inbox wias full of hatemail...

This however mostly applies to him going after Bush and the GOP... Drawin an image of Bush trappeling the constitution and dressed as a Despot tyrant is inflamatory... Howevr it is Apt.. we KNOW things like that went down and it makes sense,,,

For the most part, a Poltical cartoonists job is supposed to portray Truthfull facts in a syterical and irreverant manor...

Which brings us back to the 'artists' of this thread... THESE people draw images specfically to be inflammatory... Realty and Truth doesnt enter into it... That is the reason why we have an Image of Obama whacking babies with a baseball bat, while gleefull pronoucning that hes "making sure there are no survivors"

So.. All poltical cartoonists ARE dicks... But some are simply ASSHOLES

I think it's easier if you think of political cartoonists as real life trolls. Some can be occasionally entertaining but most are morons or hacks; and for fuck's sake use a spell-checker.

Looks like it's an old cartoon. Quick googling brought up some blog called Social Security Choice (guess what side they support), and that cartoon was posted under an entry in 2005. So it's at least that old.

Regardless of when it was made, though, it's just another one of those "Democrats support slavery because the Confederates called their party Democrat back in 1860 Image" cartoons, with an extra helping of race-baiting.

I simply do not understand this strange belief that Obama controls everything. If he was so competent as to orchestrate the words of every major media outlet and Democrat in the country, he would be so unbelievably competent that he'd solve all our problems in a day.

Yet somehow, people believe he's an evil genius who can control things, like the criticism of the idiocy perpetrated by Sam the not-plumber.

Ok I have to say this Jim Huber hguy is a wealth of over the top skewered and out lite lies regarding politics. Each Cartoon is more misleading then the last.. But this THIS made me stop cold.

For those that remember... When the president of Iran came to speak at Columbia.. was there ANYone in the highly LIBERAL campus that supported him? Was there a single "hippie" that said "Ya man! we need to let him speak here!" I mean really...

Exactly my thought. What exactly did Obama do? Was it because Obama made fun of Joe the Plumber for being the richest plummer he every came across? Because if that is it the cartoonist reminds me of your average fundamentalist Christian who thinks that criticism amounts to persecuting him and being desperate to shut him up.
