Trump Jr. booed by supporters; the Kushners vs. Bannon

Post by Proletarian »

The dialectical unraveling of the contradictions in the Trump movement continue apace. I am far less interested in the personalities and particularities of what's happening here than what this represents in the abstract.

Trump Jr booed off stage by supporters of his father amid apparent split in US far right | The Independent
Donald Trump Jr was booed off stage and forced to abandon a book tour appearance at the University of California’s Los Angeles campus – due to a protest by supporters of his father.

The event, organised by conservative group Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was disrupted by chants of “Q and A! Q and A!” after the audience was told the president’s son would not take questions, video showed.

...

Social media posts suggested the protests came from an ultra-conservative, nationalist and isolationist subset of the president’s “America first” supporters.

Charlie Kirk, TPUSA’s leader and a pro-Trump activist, was denounced as a “political liability” running a group that “SMEARS socially conservative Christians and supporters of President Trump’s agenda” by far-right figures on Twitter.

The event, organised by conservative group Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was disrupted by chants of “Q and A! Q and A!” after the audience was told the president’s son would not take questions, video showed.

It was intended to promote Mr Trump’s book, Triggered, which takes aim at liberal and left-wing politics.

But Mr Trump’s appearance lasted only about half an hour, with he and partner Kimberly Guilfoyle forced off the stage by the chants from a section of supporters.

Their chants erupted after Mr Trump said students “being able to question things, to be able to stand up to” authority was important.

“You’re not making your parents proud by being rude and disruptive and discourteous,” Ms Guilfoyle told the protesters. “I bet you engage and go on online dating because you’re impressing no one here to get a date in person.”

One said: “THIS IS A REVOLUTION among the conservative youth in this country ... WE WILL NOT STOP until the sanctioned invasion of our country through mass legal immigration comes to an end”.

“Congrats, Charlie Kirk. You just made the Groyper Army more powerful than before. All you had to do was just take a few questions...” tweeted another.

The groyper meme is a derivative of Pepe the frog, which was adopted by the far-right and particularly by supporters of Donald Trump.
This is interrelated to this story.

New Docs Suggest Bannon May Have Given False Info To Mueller | The Daily Wire
Newly-released documents from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and a new report from Bloomberg News suggest that former Trump campaign Chief Executive Steve Bannon provided Mueller with false information during the federal investigation.

Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Jacobs wrote on Monday that Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, were angered over recent revelations that surfaced when the documents from Mueller’s investigation surfaced over the weekend. Jacobs wrote:
Bannon wrote in the July 2017 email that Kushner “was on ‘vacation’ off the coast of Croatia with a Russian billionaire when I took over the campaign.”
Bannon wrote the email while he was still employed in the Trump administration as the president’s chief strategist, leading Kushner and Ivanka to allegedly tell associates that they consider the email to be proof that Bannon sought to undermine the administration while he worked in the White House.

Buried in the 274 pages that was released from the investigation was a summary of an investigative interview that Mueller’s team had with Bannon on February 14, 2018, that stated:
Bannon knew Kushner was on vacation off the coast of Croatia with a Russian billionaire when Bannon took over the campaign. Kusher was with Wendy Deng, the Russia billionaire, and the Russian’s girlfriend. Bannon said his friends in the intelligence community said the girlfriend was “questionable.”
Multiple sources told Bloomberg that the allegation that Kushner and Ivanka were vacationing with a Russian billionaire was completely untrue.

“This is truly bizarre because the information Bannon apparently gave to the FBI and Special Council is provably false—it’s been verified that Jared and Ivanka never met any Russians while on vacation in August of 2016,” a former senior White House official told The Daily Wire. “I’m not surprised though because Steve was engaged in a pointless war with Jared and Ivanka the entire time he was in the White House.”

“Pushing a provably false accusation to the media—and even more insanely to the Special Counsel—shows the depths to which he was willing to go to advance himself at the expense of the President and his family,” the official added. “It’s sad to watch for those of us who know him but Steve has turned out to be an overrated opportunist, revisionist and well-documented liar who continues to take credit for successes in which he played no role.”
All theories (bourgeois, fascist, Stalinist, Labourite, left-wing, or far-leftist) which somehow glorify and praise the proletariat as it is and claim for it the positive role of defending values and regenerating society, are anti-revolutionary.

It is entirely predictable that fascists, who define their world view by fanatical devotion to the tribe and warfare with an "Other", would become increasingly divided as they turn on their own, demanding every greater purity and an ever-narrower definition of who constitutes "one of us".

The latter story interests me because if Bannon gave false information, that could lead to a perjury or obstruction charge, removing one more major Nazi rat from play.
