Well there are stubborn individuals on this board who refuse to switch at all costs, such as the one who complains that Mozilla is too netscapish, even with the IE theme... .

I just only switch a few days ago because it was too netscapeish :?

I've been using Firefox every since. The only reason I haven't switch back is the IE theme and shortcuts :D

Only good thing about IE

Post by Kazuaki Shimazaki »

... other than a complement of sites that only work on IE, is the MHTML thing. I like saving some webpages to disk, and MHTML files are "neater" than a normal HTML and an associated folder for all the pictures. I'm not sure if MHTML is less efficient (in terms of being a disc space hog like Word produced HTML files are supposed to be), but the one-file-has-it-all ability is something I wish is replicated in Firefox...

I still use IE since some sites work on IE only. On Linux I have Netscape.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Other than the sites that still work on IE bit, I still use IE sometimes as flashget doesn't work well with Mozilla....

There are indeed certain IE-only websites out there. You can credit the success of Microsoft's "embrace and extend" strategy for this problem. My solution is generally not to give business to those websites, and I have indeed bought from a different vendor in order to avoid an IE-only website in the past.

I'm switching right now. IE just spreads its legs for every bit of bullshit adware out there.

I switched over a few months back after one infestation too many and I'm really happy with Firefox. The tabbed browsing is a nice addition.

There are even sites that check if you use IE and then tell you to get a better browser if you don't because their site only works with IE.
That's why I like Opera. Just tell it to "identify as MSIE" and you can access the page - although I only do this with pages I really need to use.

There are some extensions to do that with Firefox as well.

Any links to those extensions for regular Mozilla?

No, it was a subtle reference to a board member who also uses a minidisk player *hint* *hint* (that was not so subtle, since it's recent).
