I'll find an M-class planet with a reasonable tech base, jump to there, and demand surrender. if they refuse, I'll obliterate all armed ships and starbases, then threaten bombardment. If that doesn't cause them to surrender, I will obliterate a major population center with light turbolaser fire, and demand surrender one more time. If they don't surrender by then I'll bombard all military bases outside of cities and send troops to take over. I was thinking of destroying cities until they surrendered, but then decided that that would be useless, given that if they don't surrender after obliterating one city, blowing up more won't help, and I'm not that much up for massacre of random civilians.

No offence intended to Wong but one would think that one of the Messholes would be a better commander given actual experience in armed forces.

Me I'd try and get a nice administrative position in an office based in the middle of the ship for maximum safety.

The period immediately after our arrival would go down in history as the greatest nightmare the galaxy has ever known, because for every mature, rational person on the board, there are several kiddies who have never tasted actual responsibility and power in their lives, and would have no idea how to handle it. And they would all have the ability to depopulate an entire planet now.

Find Wong's ship, enter into alliance with him, wash rinse repeat with Dalton, everyone in GALE, HAB, Mess, etc.

Find Chitty's ship and blow it the fuck up. Make sure no escape pods survive.

Then we rape the Borg.

The comments in this thread have made one thing fairly clear to me. We would need some find of command and control network set up. If we don't then you end up with a messy grabasstic force where each board member is going after the targets they want without any kind of coordination between them.

I agree with Einhander's idea of setting up a type of alliance with the majority of SDN. Which would allow us the authority to set up some basic rules of operation.
  • Soldiers are irreplacable. Therefore, under no circustances will an SSD be allowed to capture and occupy a planet. You would be fighting a war of attrition on the enemy's turf.
  • No native starship shall be attacked unless fired upon or specifically authorized to do so by the Admins.
  • The Borg are an exception to this. eliminate al borg incursions with extreme prejudice.
  • Any SSD captain caught violating these rules will be spaced, and the ship will be used for spare parts and/or training.
Then we embark on the campain to completely destroy the Borg.

After that we spell out to the AQ powers that we don't want to rule the Galaxy, just our section of it. (spoils of the Borg campaign) And that we want peace.

I have a feeling that many will die in their first hyperspace jump because they were too eager to go subjugate some civilization, totally forgetting the fact that travelling through hyperspace isn't a walk in the park.

Why obliterate the Borg? As I mentioned, once you take the wind out of their sails, they'd be a nearly ideal manufacturing/fabrication race. Harness their parallel processing abilities, and you also have a signal-processing core as well.

I'd heavily redesign many of the ships in the databanks though, as well as give my Stormtroopers powered armor and proper guns, just so I can be ready HAB-style if people get pushy. (Yes, this is an excuse to give them Jotun-style power armor.)

However, as Stark mentioned, having thousands of the ships sitting in space captained by all those zero-post people should be divided amongst all those who get there first.

I'd rather not get into fights with other ships captained by SD.Net members, as that would be rather counter-productive. However, as I mentioned above, I'd have forces ready and able to counter them should it occur.

Simple really, they are the biggest threat to the Milky Way powers. If you can demonstrate the complete and utter annihilation of the Borg. Most of the other Milky Way powers will fall in line, effectively subjugating them without firing a single shot.

This is true and would prove advantageous for setting up a long-term power base. As long as the Borg appear to be utterly destroyed with no way to rebuild as an industrial power, then the point of the show of force will have done its job.
rhoenix wrote:However, as Stark mentioned, having thousands of the ships sitting in space captained by all those zero-post people should be divided amongst all those who get there first.
I would think that this is a bit of a wildcard, since they would still get pulled through to the ST-verse, and would probably try and surive, even without a real knowledge of the SDN internal politics.

This is true, with a few exceptions, I would think that most of SDN would group together, albeit in a fairly messy confederacy.

I think I'd also have to track down a group of Pakleds and give them a small imperial ship just for sheer amusement.

I have a feeling someone on the SSD, the actual crew, will handle all that stuff, and probably advise you on your actions, so I doubt an SSD is going to be lost in hyperspace, unless of course one of the members in charge of their ship tell the crew to never question them or secondhand them.

we could always space the comatose captains of the 0 post ships and install some of the active ships XOs as captain.

Granted, but that's also easily (and better) done with the Dominion. Bootstomp them, and the same effect occurs - moreover, you aren't wasting a valuable potential resource by squishing them.

That's my hope - it's also why I wanted to setup an immediate powerbase, so I'd be able to negotiate peacefully from a position of strength. ;)

The only problem there is due to the stipulations of the OP, even the 0-post people would have loyal crews.

So, we'd have quite a few Executors, with complete crews, sitting around with their thumbs up their asses. However, I imaging even on an Imperial-crewed ship, the crew would take steps to defend their ship in the event of a comatose captain.

1.) Contact other members

2.) Form alliance of sorts

3.) conquor borg for manufacturing base

4.) Divide glaxay into sectors, randomly assign each member a sector, forming the first true Galactic Confederation.
4a.) Establish some sort of intetgalactic court system
4b.) Establish Laws, (for us, doesnt apply to aboriginal species.

5.) Find and Eliminate threats, namely 0 posters or madmen

6.) Keep earth (not the ufp) as neutral ground were we can all meet n greet. AFter all, we are all from earth, and since all want, no one should get.

7.) Inform the rest of the galaxy of the sector's and who is the lord of that sector.

8.) Crush opposition to us.

9.) Live how we wish and try not to impose on each other.

or something like that

Seems to me that almost everyone wants to take out the Borg, so I will head in the opposite direction.

I have realized that I would be happy with a small empire, of sorts, and live out my life in happiness and peace while you kill each other. I have also found that I say things that don't make sense and they are liable to get me blown away by other SDN'ers.

These reasons will lead me to find an out-of-the-way planet (hopefully with some heavy industry) and then relax for the rest of my life. This planet will be easily subjugated (if not, I will find a different one until such time as my fuel runs out, then I may be desperate, but I don't expect it to take nearly that long) and I will become the Head of State and God of the planet.

The SSD and all TIE's will stay in orbit to protect my world. I will live in a palace on the surface, with immediate access to a shuttle and a transporter (hey, they have the technology!) to be able to return to my ship in the most expedient fashion. I will also have immediate access to a secret tunnel leading to a (hopefully) BDZ-resistant bunker deep within the core.

Now really, do you have to kill an entire ship of semi-innocent and definitely useful crew just to get one person you don't like? Turn up with 100 opposing ships, blast the shields down and tell the first officer 'throw your commander in the brig and surrender or you're all vapor'. Then cannibilise the ship for fuel and spare parts.

Conceded. I didn't think that far. I suggest also to give the ship a proper chance to surrender before opening fire while the XO relieves Chit of command.

Another option is to give command of the spare Exie to Wong or an Admin; make them a fleet admiral. This will likely happen naturally anyway.

We have plenty of spares. If it's every member of the board, then it's likely that over a thousand will not even do anything or just float around the galaxy, maybe toy with the possibility of doing something.

And why ever would you kill someone for their actions on the Internet?

If I was you I would look to capture a 0 post-er's SSD, and not tell anyone. Then, send your original SSD (with a clone or HRD of you at the helm) around the galaxy in random jumps to cause misleading sightings and keep everyone away from the real you.

Then, with your newly captured SSD, look to live out your life in hiding. If necessary, repeat with a new SSD.

If the tech base is there, build a very basic World Devastator. Nothing more than computer, 'vacuum', furnace, and factories. From there, just wait for the thing to be big enough to move all my crew into. Scavenge the SSD for raw materials, and make a space-going empire.

Also, I'd pop by Risa and transfer several thousand of the locals on board. Waste not, want not, and I want to keep my crew from being bored while the WD is being built.

That'd probably cut down the food supply to 4-6 months, but the WD should be able to start the basics 2 months after coming online. Scavenge raw materials to start on an automated hydroponics plant, and work from there. Maybe even start on an Industrial World. A few years from now, I'll be trading repair supplies to everyone else.

Wait a sec. Are our SSDs branded with our names or something? Cuz anyone who has never seen these things before wont be able to tell who is commanding which ship. It would be kind of difficult to go kill someone if every SSD was the same on the outside.

I assumed that they would have some sort of identifier with our names. Hence my advice to chitoryu.

Also, what would be going on on the SSD named for FreeXXXPorn? Hmm? :P
