I know. I'm not even in the military and I know this basic stuff. Its clear that Jay has never been in the armed forces and only lies about it to try and make himself look more useful and learned.

Hell, you learn more about combat dynamics and the military by playing Full Spectrum Warrior than Jay has exhibited.

That's the hilarious thing about really bad bullshitters; they just don't know when to quit. It's not enough for them to make up a story about themselves; they have to make it larger-than-life. Every one of them is a scientist, a warrior, a lover, a genius. That's actually one of the most common early tip-offs, even before they start saying things that the real McCoy would never say.

Look at my "Jay's greatest hits" post. Jay has claimed in the past to have been in the first tank division to reach Baghdad in Gulf War 1.

The first Gulf War? In '91?

Yes. And he is actually DEFENDING that claim with:

Verily he is the master of the nitpick to evade the main point.

Having actually applied to the armed forces, and passed all entrance exams, (yes, theres entrance exams), i feel comfortable whan saying, :wtf: JAY?

ackbar had 20 some cap ships, a couple hundred fighters, and a few corvettes. the plan called for all the cap ships, fighters, corvettes, and whatnot to DISTRACT THE IMPERIAL FLEET while a few fighters flew into the deathstar and USED IT'S OWN REACTOR to blow it up from the inside.

All of this plan was centered around one critical factor. The shield.

When they realized the shield was still up, the wanted to pull out then, but decided to stay in case the shield fell sometime soon. Ackbar made a wise military decision based on assurances from one of his generals. (Lando)

When they realized the deathstar was operational, Ackbar again made a wise decision, and called for retreat. But, again from Lando< was told they would never get another chance to destroy the deathstar.

Any competent commander would realize that attacking an incomplete militay station whos shields could fall at any minute is better than waitin for the thing to be complete.

A decision was later made to close with the less dangerous target of the stardestroyers, so as to impede the firing line of the deathstar. And to destroy the largest and most dangerous of the stardestroyers first, as it could do the most damage to the rebel fleet.

Sisko, on the other hand, flew 1 damaged spaceship into a small corrider to engage a fleet of over 10000 enemy capital ships.

His plan.... Mabye the gods will save us. :wanker:

ghetto edit. Applied but never got in, criminal record.

Hey Jay, you like to make big claims about going to peoples houses and beating them up, come to my house.

I dish out the kind of beating that lands people I prison for 2 years, and I don't even use weapons.

Not sure about the SEAL's but your point applies to the SAS. The guy that hosts Future Weapons on the Discovery Channel is supposed to be a former SEAL and they don't blur him out but they don't talk about any operations he may have been on.

I think they differentiate between active and former SEALs, though I'm sure you're right about the operations.

I think he was joking. Maybe an ntellectual beating was what he meant.
Conversion Table:

2000 Mockingbirds = 2 Kilomockingbirds
Basic Unit of Laryngitis = 1 Hoarsepower
453.6 Graham Crackers = 1 Pound Cake
1 Kilogram of Falling Figs - 1 Fig Newton
Time Between Slipping on a Banana Peel and Smacking the Pavement = 1 Bananosecond
Half of a Large Intestine = 1 Semicolon

His boasts of military claims? Hell no, the thread was deleted long ago. Thats the problem with ST.com. A flame war breaks out, TOS violations occur, do the mods discipline the offending troll? Hell no. They just delete the thread. Why they think that will be an effective deterrent to trolling is beyond me.

They just don't give a damn; look at how many times Jay has been banned from ST.com, only to come back with a new name. Were the place run competently, a good quarter of the posters would be gone thanks to IP bans.
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

True. He either needs banning or an explanation of what is and is not funny.

I am left with a conundrum. Parts of the above conversation appear to be backseat moderating. I want to helpfully point it out, but wouldn't doing so be backseat moderating as well? So I wonder if it's best to just shut-up and wait for the mods to show-up, or whether to press "Submit" and risk getting yelled at...
