Thanks for missing the point, you fucking retard. I just listed a bunch of thing IMPLICIT, but not EXPLICITLY shown in the movies, as examples of things MORONS pretend don't exist. What do you think 'impressive sublight speed' means, cretin? It clearly has extremely powerful engines, but they're not visible, just like the massive cooling requirements. This doesn't mean they don't exist.

Wait, let's pretend you're smart and I'm the dumb one. Explain how your retarded post makes a fucking bit of sense. 'zomg teh ds goes fast'? No shit, moron, that's what I just fucking said. You're such a clever dick!
In Pep's defense, if he's who I think he is, he's been putting up with SSFPhoenix's crap for a while, along with a couple posts by Husker. Its possible his sarcasm detector broke during this time period (I'll admit, after having to deal with rabid Trektards, mine is usually offline for a time).

That's a common trait of Trektards. For them, Star Trek is more than a mere piece of entertainment; it is important. Darkstar actually tried to compare his defense of Trek to the Battle of Britain, for fuck's sake.

Seriously, WTF is up with the Death Star being a chain reaction weapon?

BTW, he says that the Death Star cant have all the energy necessary to blow up a planet because of recoil? (right?)
Have him prove the mass of the DS. Or more to the point, cite what I posted on page 2 about force applied.
Well, dont inertial compensators do something with that?
No.

People, the sound you just heard , was Winston Churchill rolling over in his grave, along with roughly the entire population of Great Britain from that time period.

Where can that be found (assuming he didn't delete it, of course)?

While I was aware of this webpage since it came up, I'm still wondering how you can compare a debate over stupid shit on the Internet to a war for survival of an entire nation. Everybody would like to be Churchill, I guess, but most people recognize that in order to be compared to him, you have to become a leader and make important decisions that affect people and countries and stuff.

That's still nothign compared to the fact he honestly believes Wayne is parrt of a massive email list conspiracy whose sole purpose is to undermine the sw/st efforts of one RSA. Its rather sad that he believes that eveyone else is as obsessive and lifeless as he seems to be.

Darth Wong wrote: Massless photons still have momentum. At the kind of energy scales we're talking about, that momentum is significant, even when applied to a planet. And really, anyone participating in this debate should know that.
Well yeah, although depending on how one considers a TL to function would almost certainly impact just how significant.

These clowns seem to think it does work like a conventional particle beam (a variation of the "hur hur, TLS move too slow do do the sort of damage claimed without having implausibly high mass." argument.) even though that's unsubstantiated and retarded. I mean, we don't know how the Superlaser transfers its energy to the target any more than we know how a lightsaber does what it does. For all we know, the superlaser's partticle beam "mass" might convert to energy on impact. The "recoil" of accelerating such a "particle beam" would not neccesarily correspond to the energy needed to mass-scatter Alderaan like we see in the movies.

It just goes to show that they never think these things through very well. Even when they grasp upon a semi-legitimate concern, they fail to consider it frrom more than one or two angles tops due to their intellectual laziness (or ignorance, ,take your pick.)

Hey, dealing with the level of stupidity that morons like Dorkstar exhibit will get to the best of debaters.

Arguing with Spock has reached new heights of hilarity at this point for me.

He's a mindless Scooter cockgoblin. What do you expect? Personally, I have better things to do with my time, like watch paint dry.

I've never had the punishment to experience debating one. By this point, though, I've pretty much given up and simply dismissed him.

Oh well, a new experience, at least.

On a similar note, does anyone have the ROTS ICS and access to a scanner? My printer has chosen this time to break down, and I need a print out to prove to Spocky that the guns we see firing in the movie are in fact point defense weaponry.

You won't prove anything to that dorkstar cultist, as they don't consider the ICS to be authoritative over what they pretend the movies to be.

This particular idiot doesn't seem to hold to Darkstar's "only the films" idiocy as he has referenced the EU several times, particularly Darksaber.

Darkstar selectively quotes the EU and ignores it when he deems it advantageous to his argument to do so.

And to these tards, the ICS books carry the least weight of all, because they're the most damaging to their own imaginary world.

And Trekkies have been trying to pass the sameold bullshit about Darksaber since it came out. And they've been refuted every single time.
