What's more dangerous than a Wookiee with a lightsaber?

CAPTAINCHEWBACCA WITH A LIGHTSABER!

Oh yeah, you're envious.

Upon closer inspection...

I still have to wrap the bottom of the handle in leather. We were going for a "norse" lightsaber look, so its made of a faux-ivory material, and made to look rather aged. The 3 runes inscribed in it are Ansuz, power of words an insight, Algiz, rune of protection, and Mannaz, for man.

Thoughts?

"Star Wars Kid Grown Up"? Don't think so. Besides, don't have a video camera.

Well, this is the done saber, I'm just debating whether or not to wrap the handle.

what did you make it from? it looks almost like it came from either a lamp, a pool cue or a table leg.

Its all custom-crafted. The handle is a wooden dowel wrapped with a faux-ivory material. The pommel is a faucet fixture, and the emitter disk is a bunch of scrap metal.

It looks darn cool. Simplistic yet dangerous simultaneously.

By the way, you're not going to add a hilt?

That IS the hilt, its like 16 inches long. I wrapped the base of the ivory in leather.

I meant where's the hook that you can use to hang on your belt.

I think that may be the round object above the saber hilt in the pictures-- some kind of button thing like on the PT sabers?

Actually, the round object above the hilt in the pictures is a quarter, which I included for scale. After we were done, we realized we hadn't included a clip  , so if I want to put it on a belt, the mechanism would have to be attached to the belt instead of the saber.

*nods* BUt am curious cause the picture sure makes it look keen, and if they actually make'm like that, it seems like a sound investment...

No, that bugger was custom, and a labor of many months. Kit-sabers are less... "piece-oriented"

Now you're talking!

P.S. Siggied!

Good art has function as well as form. I hesitate to spend more than $50 on decorations of any kind unless they can be used to pummel an intruder into submission.
