That is spectacular. Completely scratch built, or did you incorporate kitbashing from anywhere? Also, that's a pretty obscure bit of scifi, any particular reason you went with it?

It is about 50/50 The basis is an F-5 A fuselage with Saab Draken wings. The entire engine compartment and upper fuselage is scratchbuilt. The books are childhood friends. I went with that as my source because I just cant build models oob. Also it was always one of my favorite ships.
Here is the photobucket where you can see the build progress from day 1

I am also working on a couple other ships from the same book. I would be happy to post them if y'all are interested.

Cool model, and the painting is excellent, but the colours seem a little harsh.

Very Chris Foss colour scheme and design, I love that style even if it looks a little odd compared to current fashions in space craft. You certainly nailed the look and paint job, well done.

Ah man, the first one I can do without but I remember that big black & yellow ship from books years ago. It's beautiful, and it looks like you've nailed that one in 3D as well. What a blast from the past. I used to look through books of this kind of stuff in the library years ago, and then go home and try and draw similar stuff. Being a ham-fisted and colour blind idiot meant I had to wait for CGI modeling to come along before I had a chance to make stuff like this. I think these things are to blame for my penchant for bright tiger-stripe paint schemes on my recent models. I cant wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Kenny . This was always one of my favorite books when I was a kid. It just took about 35 years for me to get my modeling skills good enough to attempt them.
