(Galileo 25th, 2259 After Tranquility) Lord Vice Admiral Jorden Tsao (First Graf Tsao) publically decapitates the leader of the Black Viper Militia of Barbarians shortly after the addition of the Third Expasion Sphere world of Jackston into the Novan Empire. Once a fairly sucsessful colony for its area, a series of earthquakes and a massive Tsunami in the early 20th century AT had caused a level of regression on Jackston to barbarism. Most urban society collapsed and what emerged as the major holders of powers were a series of Barbarian clans, warrior societies existing as either village level agricultural or nomadic pastoral societies. Between 2195 and 2258 the planet was conquered by the nearby Republic of Tlaloc and the Holy Dominion of Baset. Neither side was able to fully pacificy the planet due to their limited of troop lift capacity, small scale (leaving aside Jackston, the collective population of both states was 1.1 billion by 2250, neither were praticularly prosperous) and the fact that it constantly changed hands and was occasionally split between the two powers, which made active attempts to sabotauge each others efforts. This came to the end after Jackston was seized by a Novan Conquest fleet.

Jorden Tsao was given a lordship with some 500,000 square kilometers of land and some 15 million people living on it. Many of which were notable for being savage barbarians. As such, in conjunction with the occupying army forces he helped plan, orginize and oversee campaigns to bring them to heal. Some of them rebelled, most notably the Black Vipers, which turned to bloody terrorism. Upon the capture of their leadership, he personnally executed them by the sword from his new capital. This is one of the few rare examples in which a Novan Nobleman has used his/her household sword (one of the symbols of Nobility in the Novan Empire) in anger.

Those upper limbs don't look very slashy, should have bigger claws maybe? The arms also look a bit stringy, though I'm not sure if there are animals with similarly shaped limbs. Nice creature though, looks a lot like a fish.

The Forelimbs are more grabby than slashy. The Lower Limb is the main killing tool.

Nova Atlantean Greater Stripped Wretch, A meter long carrion eater found on all three of Nova Atlantis's continents. Covered in a coat of thick bristlely hair, Wretches (along with some six thousand seven hundred species of avian reletives) are the primary airborn creatures on Nova Atlantis. Wretches have done fairly well for Nova Atlantean creatures after the arrival of Humanity as they can digest festering Terragen corpses (although native life is still more nutritious). The forlimbs are used to cut meat off of dead bodies and deliver them into its maw and their powerful jaws can chew through the fiberous bones of Nova Atlantean macrofauna.

An idea i had, Basically this is a Cyberman made by Cybermen (Cybus Cybermen to be praticular) stranded on modern earth with limited equipment and resources to bolster their numbers. There still is a fair bit of human inside of this creature incased in a comandeered rubber Hazmat suit, but its mind is Cyberman through and through, though it might be possible to surgically remove the human inside and restore them to at least some degree. It is not as durable as the factory produced Cybus models and needs recharging every few hours, but it does have a considerable strength and durability advantage over non upgraded people and has a built in firearm for combat. This is, of course a stopgap messure for ultimately these crude constructs are to be fully upgraded.

Why not just make single-shot weapons instead of repeating weapons (shotgun perhaps)?

Also, under the circumstances, wouldn't it be more prudent to simply allow a more biological cyberman, with less robotization but more adaptive to the local environment? Having to recharge every few hours sounds like a serious problem to me, to the point where it sounds it would be more worthwhile to lower the amount of upgrades in favor of longer operation time.

I was thinking that these cybermen managed to obtain some conventional hand weapons and adapted them to serve their needs.

First off, they are suposed to be just that. Rather than a human brain in a cyborg body (which is what Cybus Cybermen are) there is a human body within the suit. These are used to do fairly specific tasks (generally plugged into a power grid). These don't go out much (mostly used for various projects and defenseively) and can operate to some degree on low power for a longer period of time.

Oh, I assumed that those weapons were built from scratch. If they don't ,why bother bolting them on? Why not just allow the Humanoid Cybermen to just use human equipment "normally"? That way, it would save on resources and manpower.

I meant, ditch most of the suit (which I assume is an exoskeleton) and instead just make a heat-regulating and isolation suits (ala-biohazard suit)? It would make some sense if the cybermen are making sensitive materials?

Orcs are among the most widespread races of the west, well established across the western southern continent and the western half of the great continent. Despite this there are few areas which can be said to be under the control of Orcs (at least in the comparitively well charted areas of the Great continent or the coastal regions of the southern). For the most part, Orcs exist as small tribes of a few dozen to a few hundred individuals in the less populated areas. While some tribes have some degree of relations with a few human, dwarfish and undead powers (often hiring Orcish mercenaries), these have at best been at arms length. Often orcs, either alone or in small groups will attack caravans, farms or villages and occasionally orcish clans will be united and launch attacks against kingdoms, although these are usually put down.

According to what can be deserned from what few records exist, Orcs were created by the Drow during the legendary war with the High Elves which led to the seperation of their society. Created from various creatures through unknown means by a Dark Elf Sorcerer, Orcs were created to provide a race of cannon fodder for their armies. This was sucsessful for a few decades before a few orcs were left stranded in the wild without Dark Elf overseers and set up their own crude societies. These renegages eventually made a habit of trying to free other orcs from the Drow yoke by killing the Drow officers commanding orcish redgiments, as did High Elf skirmishers. This eventually led to distrust among Drow officers to their Orcish Janissaries which eventually led to decent and eventually several major revolts, eventually causing the famed Dark Emperor of the Drow to execute their creator and sugnifigantly reduce the number of Orcs that he employed through a series of campaigns to kill off as many of them as possible. A few orcs are still employed by the Drow as shock troops, but their numbers are limited in comparison to other Janissaries (mostly human).

Standing slightly more than a than a bù in hight, Orcs have an apelike upper body and in general have three to four times the upper body strength of an average human, as well as thicker skin with a greenish tint which our scholars have discovered is because of a layer of microscopic plants similar to pond scum which act symbiotically to provide the creatures with additional nutrition. In times of severe famine, orcs have been known to go into a hibernative state in direct sunlight with a minimum of clothing. Despite this, orcs need twice the food of a human if active. Orcs are in genaral more durable than humans, although humans generally have more stamina. Orcs breed faster than humans, having six month long pregancies and reach puberty in four years (this factor is beleived to be the main reason why the orcs as a species have been able to survive) and live fairly short lives (the oldest known orcs are about fifty years old, though few orcs live to old age). Male Orcs tend to have less finely developed motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination than females (which often serve as archers and craftswomen in Orcish society). Despite this and despite myths, Orcs are in fact do not lag majorly in intelligence. Orcs are more prone to agressive behavior. This is especially true for male orcs going through puberty and adolecence, who are effectively emotional children with an even more pronounced tendancy towards emotional extremes.

While there have been groups advocating the extermination of the Orcs among the Imperial Court, it is beleived that Orcs might still be useful. For the first decade, attempts at integratinge female orcs, males have been problematic. Then several apothecaries devised a method to control there rage. This involved making use of a drug derived from a root vegtable native to the southern continent currently popular among the women of the upper classes and certain professions as a preventative. Said drug calms male orcs down and reduces their sex drive considerably. Currently many orcs are employed as basic laborers in areas which require alot heavy lifting, including steel mills and shipyards. A few orcish street gangs have been founded, but these are not praticularly large. Still, Orcs are kept somewhat seperate from the general society. A few orcs have been employed as soldiers by the Zhong Army.

Tigermen are native to the southern and northeastern provinces of the Zhong Empire (as well as in the rainforests of the southern swamplands and Islands). This race of humaniod Felines has lived on the finges of society and are renound for their ferocity in combat. Standing on average a Bu and a Half tall, weighing twice as much as the averge man, they are fast, supurb swimmers, have an excellent sense of smell, able to match an orc in strength (if not in resilliance) and equiped with deadly claws and teeth. Despite this, they are just as intelligent and no more prone to violence than humans. Their numbers have been kept comparitively low due to their dietary requirements, as they are obligate carnivores. Even with improvements in agriculture, they are still outnumbered considerably by humans. Never the less, they are considered to be valued citizens of the Empire and are very useful for police forces and the army.

Tigermen Soldiers are feared on the battlefield, used as shocktroops and heavy skirmishers by the Zhong Military. Carrying heavier firearms than a human could hope to weild Tigermen shocktroops can threaten even soldiers clad in heavy magically enhanced armor. In close quarters they weild bayonets and heavy Dao Blades.

Currently, Tigermen are establishing themselves in the newly conquered western provinces. Among the Zhong forces in the west are some 30,000 Tigermen as well as some 45,000 retired veterans and their families and other colonists. Westerners often meet Tigermen with fear, outside Zhong controlled territory, they are often feared bloodthirsty man eaters. This is not totally without justification, as Tigermen will eat the corpses of fallen enemy soldiers when their supplies are low but they do have strong cultural taboos against eating humans outside of said instances.

A Fishman Soldier, a prime choice of footsoldiers for the Mad Scientist with a specialization in genetics who works by the sea. Equiped with a reverse SCUBA system, kept in line using a radio control cybernetic implant and armed with ex-Soviet weapons (kept in watertight bags until they leave the water), these make excellent amphibious cannon fodder. And when tens of thousands of these beasts emerge from the waves against a city who failed to pay the ransom you demanded on them or rejected what beneficial if misunderstood things you made due to their idiot luddism, you just can't help but laugh and yell out things to the effect of "Pathetic Fools, Tremble before the power of SCIENCE!"

Jiang Shi are a catagory of undead that are native to the Zhong Homeland. It is unknown when Jiang Shi first originated, but there have been a few accounts of Mages dabbling in Necromancery in the Homeland (though this form of Magic was never persued to the same degree as it was by the Necromantic societies native to the coastal regions of the Silver Sea). The first records of Jiang Shi were on wooden ledgers dating back to about 2,700 years ago in the Northern Highlands.

Jiang Shi (for what of a better word) procreate through a fairly passive mean. The spell that animates Jiang Shi emits an aura around the creature (generally a few dozen Bu). Any recent human corpse which is exposed to that aura or person who dies inside it (unlike with western Vampires, it does not matter if the Jiang Shi is responsible for the death) has a chance of rising again as a Jiang Shi, depending largely on their personality or if they had any unfulfilled wishes or unsettled grudges in life. It is possible to prevent this by doing a few fairly basic rituals which most diviners are capable of doing. Jiang Shi, like western vampires feed off of the blood of placental mammals, with human blood and that of near human creatures (Dwarves, Elves and Orcs) yeilding more sustiance than that of non humans as well as gaining a degree of pleasure comprable to that of a living person indulging in a narcotic drug (without the side effects) from taking the life of said creatures. Jiang Shi have superhuman strength and have a notable ability to move at very high speeds (about 70 li per hour) by Jumping and can create from their hands long black fingernails of unusual strength. Unlike Vampires, Jiang Shi have a noticable smell of death about them, a somewhat more corpeslike apperence and often have a stiff set of movements which means they can not pass as normal human beings. Jiang Shi are hard to kill, usually requiring total dismemberment, decapitation or incineration, although there are ways to ward them off. It is possible to use a Fu (sheet of paper with a spell inscribed on it) to either supress their more base drives or to gain control over them. Said spells at most last a few days.

Occasionally Jiang Shi have been used by military forces since the Waring States period and by the re-unified Zhong Empire under the Zhao Dynasty. However doing so is difficult. Capturing Jiang Shi is in of itself a complex and dificult task, at most five are brought in annually and controlling them is again fairly dificult, if they are seperated from their contaiment forces (or they are destroyed), Jiang Shi will go wild. A few dozen Jiang Shi have been used in the west and 15 of them have escaped in one way or another. As such, now there are an increasing number of Jiang Shi in the Western World, attacking both the local barbarians and the Zhong colonial efforts. Efforts have been brought about to try to contain their population growth by instructing local diviners on the rites to prevent reanimation of the recently dead as Jiang Shi.

The Port City of Audachon is among the most heavilly developed cities in the west, now boasting numerous shipyards sevicing the western fleets of the Zhong Imperial Navy and even providing a few troop ships and civilian craft, as well as being a major comercial port for more civilian traffic, ships carrying colonists, industrial equipment, consumer goods and machinery for the war effort come in, while raw materials, university students, local artifacts of some value to collectors in the Zhong Homeland and a few artisan crafts (notably glasswork) go back to the Zhong Homeland. It also serves railhub, several major lines grew from the city.

In Recent years, vessels fom the east have not only flown the Zhong Flag. Eight years ago, Emperor Zhao opened up several western Ports (Audachon being one of them) to several of the more reasonable Refugee States and the Nagato in order to lower political tensions. Here we have the Captain of a Nagato Merchant ship talking to a low ranking Female Bureaucrat who is also one of his personnal freinds as they make their way through, discussing a few orders and trying to get her to pull a few strings to make things move as quickly as possible.

While not as big as the Capital, with a population of only 400,000 Audachon is a respectable urban center and continues to. There is plenty of demand for Factory and yard workers, clerks, police, carters, longshoremen and various jobs in the service sector, catering to these people and those who come and go. Because of the demand for labour, humans, dwarves, orcs, elves of various kinds have made Audachon their new home. Among the service sector jobs are some Respectable Resteraunts, including a few which cater specifically to Nagato customers. These serve the purposes of the captain, who finds the cost of a meal with someone he likes is no price at all to see things go smoothly. En route, they pass through a marketplace, were vendors are selling lunch, as well as dinners and the meals of other days to those men and women which make this city work.

It is manned by a crew of three (one pilot, one engineer and one commander who, as well as the occasional squadron commander). This versetile craft fills the gap between fighters and dedicated warships.

Kleena Boyz are a reletively rare subset of Ork that are usually found in clanz of Orks that commonly face Nurglite forces. Kleena Boyz are unusual among orks in that they are unusually tidy. When not fighting and acting like other orks, they keep their huts tidy and their trophies polished and find work giving a spit polish to Looted Tanks, War Wagons and trukks and the gear of Nobz and Warbosses. It is said that the Teef of Kleena Boyz are worth slightly more than those of other Orks due to their fine white gleam. Despite this, there are a few orks which seem them as Unorky and as such they are often fairly low in the Ork pecking order. However, they have a few redeeming features in battle, praticularly against the forces of Nurgle.

The prefered weapon of the Kleena Boy is the Blastspraya (also known as the Guyza), a device that fires off blasts of water at hypersonic speeds, which can cut through flesh and steel. According to legend the first Blastspraya was developed by a Mekboy who, after hearing that the forces of the Imperium cleases the forces of Chaos, got the idea that the best way to do it was with soapy water. The power of the water is aided by the fact that it has added to it various other things, most notably soap made from the fat of defeated enemies, household cleaners looted from under the Kitchen Sinks of the Emperor's citizens and Lemon (which is something that Orks oddly enough like the smell of). According to orkish tales, the water ejected out of Orkish Blastsprayas is blessed by Gork and Mork, and against the forces of Nurgle it is said to have a praticular advantage.

An Alien Mecha. The attachments on the side of it's body are sheild generators. Using them it can project a powerful sheild which defends (depending on their positioning) its front, back, flank or top and is powerful enough to survive a kiloton range nuclear blast, althought it will always leaves some part of it exposed.

The Basic idea here is for a Mecha warfare story. Sometime in the not to distant future several hundred of these vehicles descend from the sky, hitting major strategic centers, collecting metal to build more of themselves. Their are several varients of these. They come in a whole slew of designs, a few of these vehicles wipe out a substantial part of the nuclear arsenal of the world and deploy a number of anti-missile laser turrets, as well as manufacturing a number of smaller Mecha and aircraft for support roles using internal (and latter external) factories. The giant alien mechs inflict substantial casualties to the militaries of the world, but using overwhelming numbers a few early victories are scored, several of these larger mechs are destroyed and bits of them (including repair nanomachines inside of them) are captured and studied, eventually leading to humanity developing its own mecha using hybrids of Alien and Human Technology. In the ruins of Volgagrad, powersuited Spetznas Teams do battle with Crab and Wolflike machines. In North America, the United States Army does battle in its push southeast against Robotic alien hordes. In Chongqing, arms and legs are assembled for both the PLA and JSDF in their bid to free Southern China and Indochina from alien clutches and in Europe, EU Forces work to drive extraterrestial armies out of Spain, Denmark and Greece as French Mecha aces do alot to dispell the longstanding stereotype of Cowardice.

(Yes, i am fully aware of the technical disavantages of Mecha)

(Terran Sphere) An Apex Skyscraper. Novans have a praticular style of designing whole districts of buildings (usually residential or commercial) when flat land is available in large amounts. Said districts are circular, composed of a set of concentric rings of either roads or canals and a few grand avenues aranged radially. Buildings get progressively taller the closer to the center one gets, with at the center being the tallest building. Often these buildings tower more than a kilometer skywards and if a Noble House makes their home in said district, they do so in said towers. Art Deco is generally the prefered style. This style is iconic of the Novan Empire and often depicted in propaganda campaigns, both by the Novan Empire and its enemies
